Thank you for this informative documentary, which gave me a felt sense of the great city of Kano’s history. One can imagine the splendor surrounding the Royal Palace of King Gidan Rumfa. Kano started with an impressive wall around it with 15 gates. But, alas, its fort, spears, and swords could not withstand the canon and guns of the British. In the spirit of respecting life, the people of Kano used iron for farming instruments and the entry gates. Surprising and yet not so surprising, Kano’s kingmakers were four men. I believe the only woman was the one beautifully dressed in green who announced ‌the Emir. The bird’s eye shots were blaktastic.
