It was as the representative of Her Majesty the Queen that Princess Alexandra of Kent returned in the evening to hand over Nigeria's constitution to the Federal Prime Minister, Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa. Next day came the State Opening of Parliament.
