CHINUA ACHEBE, one of Africa's greatest authors, examines how the Nigerian-born writer-and modern Africa itself-were shaped by a history of racism and colonialism. Achebe, best known as the author of Things Fall Apart (1958), the first great African novel in the English language, has also written other novels, poetry, children's stories, and criticism. In an interview, Achebe discusses Africa's colonialist history, the nature of indigenous African religious and philosophical beliefs, and the artistry and human significance of literature.

Tourists can pay 220 Euro in order to spend a day in the Andaman Islands of India, and toss bananas down to Jarawa tribal people in order to entice them to dance for the natives. These excursions, which have been videotaped, have been called a "human zoo".

#IGrowYourFood - 📢 "By growing bananas and coffee, it is possible for farmers to earn an income on a daily, weekly and monthly basis” - Joseph Lwevuze. https://campaigns.ifoam.bio/igrowyourfood

“This plant has the capacity to stay here for 10 years producing bananas for home consumption. In this country, this is food security.” says Joseph. He is an organic farmer from the Luweero District in Uganda.

“#IGrowYourFood” is a part of GoodFood4All” campaign.

There are many things that connect people the world over. Food is one of them. We all have to eat. And, everyone has the right to access affordable, nutritious, good food.

But what about those who grow our food?

Do we know enough about the challenges they face, the work they do and how we can support them?

Then, without farmers, how would we eat?

The “#GoodFood4All” campaign is organized by 25 partners across Europe who have come together in "Make Europe Sustainable for All", a 3-year cross-sectoral project to promote the ambitious implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
