‘Me Gritaron Negra’ es uno de los poemas más importantes e intensos de Victoria,
porque además ella misma es el gran protagonista: lo escribió inspirada en un mal
rato que pasó en su propia la infancia. Victoria comentó muchos años después que
una niña blanca llegó a vivir a su barrio cuando ella tenía cinco o siete años y le prohibió
a sus amigas jugar con ella, “si juegan con esa negrita yo me voy”, les dijo. Ese episodio
la llenó de un resentimiento, que luego se transformó en un orgullo y una valentía que
dieron grandes frutos y reconocimientos a nivel mundial, no por algo Victoria representa
el “orgullo negro” de una raza maravillosa, la suya.Victoria Santa Cruz, heroína del arte negro peruano, le preguntaron en su última entrevista: ¿qué te ha enseñado el racismo?, respondió: "dentro de poco, dejaré esta vida ... y quiero irme en paz, con la conciencia tranquila y ya veremos qué sucede aquí . Pero todo está debilitado y dislocado en el mundo. Todos están perdiendo porque realmente, no es así cómo se pelea".

The Marimba and music Currulao from the Kmtyu of the Pacific Coast of colombia meets with the ancestral homeland of Senegal and the ancestral Balafon. In our studies, the Kmtyu of the Pacific Coast have theorized the Marimba is a descendant of the Balafon, and was reconstructed in the Choco rainforest when our ancestors were trafficked there. We also have a large ancestry from the ancient Mali empire in our Abibiman genepool, to include Senegambia. ⁣The marimba player is Hugo Candelario, from Guapi, Cauca, and one of the country's best marimba players.
