Who is Djehuti-Thoth? The Egyptian NTR of Writing, (Heka) Magic, Fate and the Moon who Became Hermes
Djehuti-Thoth is among the oldest and most complex and mysterious Ntryw of the ancient Egyptian world. His origins lost to time, he would become the Ntr of writing, heka (magic), fate and the moon. He would aid in the resurrection of Osiris, intercede on the part of justice (Ma'at) in the dispute between Horus and Set and go on to become worshiped at Hermopolis as Lord of the Ogdoad. In the Greco-Roman period he would be fused with Hermes becoming Hermes Trismegistus, legendary founder of hermetic philosophy and the occult sciences of alchemy, magic and astrology.

The Stop the Violence Movement was formed by rapper KRS-One.
During a Boogie Down Productions and Public Enemy concert, a young fan was killed in a fight; galvanized into action, KRS-One founded the Stop the Violence Movement. Comprised of some of the biggest stars in contemporary East Coast hip-hop, the movement released a single ('Self Destruction') in 1989 with all proceeds going to the National Urban League.
