Dr. Kwaw "Andreas Woods" Imana - valedictorian at Morehouse back in 2000 - beautifully articulating his reasons for rejecting the Rhodes Scholarship. He rejected Cecil Rhodes, the shame of the Rhodes Scholarship and he also rejected the Rhodes Scholarship for himself as the historical record attests (and which is known to me as I know him personally). He got a 4.0 majoring in mathematics and went on to become the first Black man in the history of the US to get a PhD in Egyptology focusing on a Demotic text. He now teaches Mdw Ntr (Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs), among other subjects, at Howard University.
He spoke right before Nima Warfield -- Morehouse College's first Rhodes Scholar who received the Rhodes Scholarship previously in 1994 -- who had come to the 2000 graduation to deliver a speech. Imana's speech caused Warfield to have to ditch his prepared speech altogether out of embarrassment.
Sudan government announce $643 Million investment in Railway Network redevelopment - The Sudan railway network, half of which is abandoned, is set for a US$ 643 million makeover as part of current Sudan government efforts to revive an economy ravaged by decades of dictatorship and global isolation. The African Development Bank, China State Construction Engineering Corp. Ltd., and unidentified Gulf firms, according to Sudan Railways Corporation (SRC), are keen on assisting the North African country in restoring the approximately 2,400 kilometers of idle rail lines.
The railway networking project will be carried out in stages. The government intends to spend US$17 million in the first stage on emergency repairs to parts of the network that are currently in use. This network, according to the SRC's general manager, Waleed Mahmoud Ahmed, during an interview with sudan news agency, is critical for the country's economic development.

At the time, the couple were lovers, although MacColl was still married to Joan Littlewood. Seeger sang the song when the duo performed in folk clubs around Britain. During the 1960s, it was recorded by various folk singers and became a major international hit for Roberta Flack in 1972, winning Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Billboard ranked it as the no. 1 Hot 100 single of the year for 1972.

Are certain countries being unfairly targeted? What does this mean for those looking for dual nationality or global mobility? Trump's proposed new travel ban would significantly restrict or prohibit entry to the United States for people from 43 countries. This travel ban poses a threat to second citizenship (i.e. dual citizenship). It poses a threat and targets multiple countries that are "friendly" to African Americans for travel, retirement, and investment.
