In this interview, Young Gambian pan-African Ousman Touray and Pararan discuss a wide range of topics including educational problems and politics in Africa.
A little background about our guest:
Ousman Touray is a prominent pan-African youth leader who completed his Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies at the University of The Gambia.
He distinguished himself after a video of him emerged in which he talks about contemporary challenges facing the African continent and why its youth “have to stay in Africa, develop Africa and then show the world that Africa has a better image than the one they portray in the West”.
He recently completed a mentorship programme in Rwanda, a country where he is being awarded a scholarship for a post-graduate programme on public policies.

This video is a documentary by Ange Casta aired on Channel 1 for the first time on September 7, 1969, on the program "Un Certain Regard". It is an interview by Enrico Fulchignoni with the great Amadou Hampâté Bâ (1900/1901 - 1991), a Malian writer, historian and ethnologist and one of the most authentic interpreters of the genius of African oral tradition.
Amadou Hampâté Bâ is the author of the famous quote: "In Africa, when an old man dies, it is a library that blazes up." This program dedicated to him aimed to highlight the important and valuable knowledge of the African continent and its universal heritage of culture. In this interview Amadou Hampâté Bâ shows how colonization, literacy, and at a different level, ethnological work, have broken the springs which allowed this culture to perpetuate and develop.
The content of this video is important to share with the public as it describes our vision of education. To expand its reach Renée Akitelek Mboya and Aude Mgba worked on English subtitles which is an ongoing project on translation and language.
Amadou Hampâté Bâ in Un certain regard is part of My learning is affected by the condition of my life, a symposium spread over time by Aude Christel Mgba, which is an experiment of various forms of learning, listening, touching, transmitting and producing knowledge.

Many African immigrant are well-to-do at home so why are they leaving to suffer in the US and Europe
Most people assume that African migrants are poor, broke, desperate Africans. On the contrary, many African migrants are well-to-do, middle-class Africans who live a good live in their countries. So, why are they leaving their good life behind to (oftentimes) suffer in the US and Europe?

In this episode of KOK LIVE, we discuss the complex narrative of freedom and its implications throughout history, exploring the intersection of Christianity and colonialism while examining how these forces have shaped the lives of many from the colonial era to modern times.
We also delve into contemporary political landscapes, reflecting on figures like Donald Trump and the influence of African leaders in the ongoing quest for true liberation. Are we genuinely free, or are we merely dancing to the rhythm of old powers?
Share your thoughts. Let’s question our freedom together! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more insightful discussions.

"CBS News announced it would examine the myths and facts of Malcolm X in a news special, "Malcolm X: The Real Story," to be broadcast Thursday, Dec. 3 (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
The program features scores of interviews as well as rare footage. Other material will be seen for the first time in more than 30 years.
"Malcolm X: The Real Story," reported by Dan Rather, traces the civil rights leader's life as he evolved from militant into moderate. Mr. Rather talks with the family and friends of Malcolm X.
According to producer Brett Alexander, CBS News has conducted network television's most extensive research on Malcolm X, including the examination of much of 50,000 pages of FBI material. "We have also pulled together the most comprehensive footage available from our own CBS News archives as well as from WCBS-TV," Mr. Alexander says. "And, we have assembled virtually all of the important people who knew Malcolm X."
The program includes interviews with Malcolm's widow, Betty Shabazz, as well as such important black cultural and political figures as Maya Angelou, Quincy Jones, Andrew Young, and Dick Gregory - who each reveal some insight into the provocative personality and dynamic principles of Malcolm X. In addition, a new generation of well-known African-Americans talk about the legacy of Malcolm X and the influence he had on their lives." - original press release
