Black Africa: Are Tribal Divisions Real?
Black Africa: Are Tribal Divisions Real? Kwadwo Danmeara Tòkunbọ̀ Datɛ 40 Views • 2 years ago

Cheikh Anta Diop, one of the most influential scholars in African history, demonstrated that the diverse Black populations across Africa share a common heritage. He showed that Africans have the same religious foundations, cultural norms, philosophies, linguistic groups, and even similar names.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Permits White Racists to Kill Our BLACK Babies
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Permits White Racists to Kill Our BLACK Babies Kwabena Ofori Osei 46 Views • 2 years ago

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. told racist white people: "You could bomb our homes and threaten our children, and we will still love you." When you really think about the level of insanity embodied within that statement it is really depressing. But not as depressing as the celebration of the man who stated it.My heart goes out to those four little girls that lost their lives in a place where they were supposed to be safe, and in the Era of a manhood that would allow such an atrocity to go unpunished and unavenged, for the sake of 'faith' in his 'white brothers'...I recall something I read in the Amsterdam News after the murder of Michael Brown:“What other race of men on the face of this Earth allows their children to be murdered in the streets with no repercussions? Have we become so emasculated as a race of men that not even our babies are worth fighting, killing and dying for? Real men fight for their elders, women and children, despite the odds against them."I was taught that if you want a woman’s loyalty ... give her a sense of security. How can a Black woman feel secure with a man who isn’t willing to fight, kill or die to protect the life she pushed out her womb for you? Are we a race of men? Or are we a race of cowards? This ain’t a rhetorical question. We must make a conscious decision to fight or wither away into extinction.”http://amsterdamnews.com/news/....2014/aug/14/police-b
It is no wonder why this man (Martin Luther King) is promoted so much in this white dominated society ... And thus we have all of the Trayvon Martins and Aiyana Jones’s of today. What's even more sad is that there are black males who will come on here and DEFEND this level of cowardice. They will come with innumerable excuses ("We can't win a fight with the white man"... "If we fight we die...") and justifications for this cowardly madness.I actually feel sorry for Black Women... they have to look around and see these sorry examples of manhood totally unashamed that they are complete sheep...Sisters... If you have a man that can sit here and defend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., take a long look down at your precious little black babies... and then come to the realization that you do not have a man.

Exposing The Inhumane Conditions Of Burkina Faso's Gold Mines | 2016
Exposing The Inhumane Conditions Of Burkina Faso's Gold Mines | 2016 Ambakisye-Okang Dukuzumurenyi 31 Views • 5 years ago

Gold Dust: Under Blaise Compaore's leadership, Burkina Faso's unregulated gold rush has had a devastating effect on mining conditions. This report digs deep into the industry, exposing the corruption beneath Compaore's ruling.

Millions of people - including children as young as fourteen - mine in an unregulated industry for a few golden grams of hope. Marcel toils underground to support his family - but without the glittering rewards promised. “We all have hope, we hope to earn” he says, but "they rob us here...They treat the miner like an animal." 17-year old Soumaele has been mining for two years. His thin body can go to even deeper than the older men, to places where the air is impossible to breathe and the tunnels are likely to collapse. Gold promises a great deal, but in an anarchic industry, teacher Soungalo Hema fears for the future of children like Soumaele: "You try and save them", she says, "but a lot of the time it’s in vain. I ask myself 'what will happen to all of us?'"

How Corporations Are Ruining Your Health (Food Industry Documentary) | Real Stories 2017
How Corporations Are Ruining Your Health (Food Industry Documentary) | Real Stories 2017 Ambakisye-Okang Dukuzumurenyi 52 Views • 5 years ago

When we walk into a supermarket, we assume that we have the widest possible choice of healthy foods. But in fact, over the course of the 20th century, our food system was co-opted by corporate forces whose interests do not lie in providing the public with fresh, healthy, sustainably-produced food.

Fortunately for America, an alternative emerged from the counter-culture of California in the late 1960s and early 1970s, where a group of political anti-corporate protesters–led by Alice Waters–voiced their dissent by creating a food chain outside of the conventional system. The unintended result was the birth of a vital local-sustainable-organic food movement which has brought back taste and variety to our tables.

FOOD FIGHT is a fascinating look at how American agricultural policy and food culture developed in the 20th century, and how the California food movement has created a counter-revolution against big agribusiness.
