Amerigo Gazaway brings to life an imagined studio session between Chicago's crowned prince of Hip-Hop, Common, and Motown legend, Stevie Wonder.
A return to the Soul meets Hip-Hop formula of his Marvin Gaye + Mos Def pairing “Yasiin Gaye,” Gazaway connects the dots between Hip-Hop and the genre’s predecessor with a musical history lesson told through the intersecting themes of Common and Stevie’s respective catalogues. As Gazaway put it:
“Stevie Wonder’s early use of synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers, in a lot of ways, paved the way for hip-hop and sampling. Part of my motivation for this project was to highlight those contributions”
Picking up where Common and Stevie’s 2016 “Black America Again,” single left off, Amerigo brings his imagined recording session to life with a slew of uncovered resources (including multitrack instrument stems, interview audio, and documentary soundbites.) Re-orchestrating deconstructed samples, the producer interweaves Common’s vivid wordplay and Wonder’s passionate vocals for a project that blurs the line between a “mashup” and a modern day duets album.

This series examines the current state of Black people's spirituality.
Journey to Amen is a challenge to Afrikans around the world to abandon all foreign deities and accept our Black God and Goddess in our own image.
It is then, and only then, that we will rise as a Race of people.

Marcus Garvey is credited with coining the phrase “Black is beautiful.” During the 1920s the Pan Africanist leader adopted the term. Garvey encouraged Black women to embrace their natural hair and features. He said, “Don’t remove kinks from your hair. Remove them from your brain.” He believed that attempting to follow white Eurocentric standards of beauty denigrated the beauty of Black women. The concept of Black being beautiful waned and almost died after Garvey was deported and then with his death.
The Black is Beautiful movement was a powerful cultural and social movement that reemerged during the 1960s and 1970s. The term “Black is Beautiful,” usually evokes memories and/visions that might fill your head full of afros, blaxploitation films, Black empowerment, civil rights movements, and black fists held in the air. In 1962, a photographer, a group of models and a fashion show in Harlem would kick-start a cultural and political movement.
In late January 1962, a group of artists known as the African Jazz-Art Society & Studios staged a fashion show in Harlem that would change American culture forever.

Pure knowledge out of Ghana from Obadele Kambon. A must watch episode still on the journey of defining the African faith.
Poro Aba NTU-Africanism.
Disclaimers: the literal term pan Africanism did not exist. The leaders of kemet (pharaoh's) with 2-7 million people at it's height would be called "Chiefs" and tribes clans and secret societies nowadays. See pharaoh (oba, obi, ebi, pororyeet, poro, Mbongi, nkosi, mfumu, onyisi obodo, fon)...
This is a tune from "The Struggle, The Love, The Glory" and video I produced about a year ago and totally forgot about. You may ask, how could I forget about producing a video, which is a valid question...lol!!! Well 9-11 does not just commemorate the tragic events of 2001, it also is almost one year to the day that I had my, near fatal, tumble off of the road. Although the physical damage was minimal and for the most part quickly overcome, the mental and emotional recovery was a totally different story. (Give Thanks and Praises for those who aided and continue to aid me through my recovery)
Again I urge all of you to spark up the revolution of the mind... Question and demand answers... Think... Love... Live...
One God... One Aim... One Destiny... One Love... (1111... 11:11... E11EVEN...)

The San people are believed to be among the first humans to inhabit the southern Africa region. After entering modern times, the San people in Botswana were deprived of their land and hunting rights. To compound all these, alcoholism and violence spread among the San sub-tribes, as cultural rites and traditions are gradually disappear.
