30 years ago Chinese immigrants started buying up homes, small businesses and rental properties in prime economic areas of California.
Financed by Chinese banks, they drove up real estate prices into the millions - akin to a pyramid scheme, they got rich off equity appreciation.Indian immigrants are now following the same pattern purchasing entire neighborhoods in new construction areas.
Meanwhile, the homeless population is at an all time high: people can not afford the higher rents or struggle to qualify for purchase loans on overvalued homes.
