African Cosmology of the Bantu-Kongo (Fu-Kiau) Chps 3 #wearereading African Philosophy. Bunseki Fu-Kiau, Ph.D. is one of the great scholars of the African religion, and the leading authority on the Bantu-Kongo civilization. He is also a genuine practitioner of the Kongo spiritual tradition. He is initiated into the three "secret societies" Lemba, Khimba and Kimpasi. Lemba is the foundation for several African based religious practices including Palo Mayombe (Cuba), Vodou Petro (Haiti) and Candomble Angola (Brasil). African cosmology of the Bantu-Kongo explores the Bantu-Kongo religious and philosophical teachings, as well as concepts of law and crime. It connects the reader with one of the most ancient and powerful spiritual traditions-explore "seven-direction walk" of our origin and links to society, nature and the universe.

Ananse, the Spider-god of the Akan people of Ghana has survived in stories across the African diaspora. This qualifies him to be a symbol of African cultural retention. Yet he continues to be regarded with ambivalence. This perhaps mirrors the value placed on African retention, still searching for an honourable place in national life, excluded from discourse about “serious matters” such as national development and education, made to operate at the margins as entertainment, as metaphor for the undesirable and confined to spaces of near invisibility. Yet the impact of globalisation on the identity of post- colonial peoples and the resources available to determine their own agenda demand a change in this profile.

"What you are seeing with Iran is that its geography, in combination with a level of drone technology that we simply cannot destroy," is demonstrating to other countries that they may not have to stay beholden to U.S. hegemony. "What makes us think we're really going to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear power in the next six months or a year?" asks Pape. "Iran is far stronger than it was just 40 days ago. It is in control of 20% of the world's oil. It is now an emerging fourth center of power. … The United States is on one side, and the rivals are China, Russia and now Iran."
