BYD and Uber sign a deal for 100,000 new electric cars: Good for BYD, but Great for Uber
Global auto markets were rocked by a recent agreement between Uber, the global ride-sharing app, and BYD, a Chinese electric vehicle brand that is now the world's largest EV manufacturer and exporter.
While BYD will surely benefit through its partnership with Uber, the extra 100,000 vehicles in the first phase of the agreement with Uber represents only a modest percentage increase in BYD"s global sales.
Far more important is how this agreement will transform Uber. BYD is the most vertically integrated motor vehicle company today, and earns very high marks for vehicle quality and reliability, which will keep its cars on the road instead of in costly repair shops. The cars are fast-charging, with long-lasting battery life. And BYD can produce at far lower costs than non-Chinese carmakers.
This all adds up to Uber now able to create new markets as fast as BYD delivers cars to put on the road.

The Ghana government should have signed a deal with Kantanka Motors to be the premier provider vehicle for the ride-sharing boom in Ghana. This will have grown Ghana automotive industry, and created hundreds of thousands of jobs for the jobless Ghanaian youths.
The Nigerian government should have signed a deal with Innoson Motors to be the premier provider vehicle for the ride-sharing boom in Nigeria. And with Nigeria having the largest population on the African continent and still growing, this will have created millions of jobs for jobless Nigerian youths, and will have grown Innoson Motors immensely.
But as always Black people our taste and desires are for those things which are foreign because we believe it is better and luxury.
BYD’s high quality, low cost electric vehicles will be all over Africa in the next couple years.
With the population boom in Africa, especially the young population boom in Africa, China is not about to loose the billions to trillions of dollars it can generate in Africa with their BYD electric vehicles.
With BYD’s high quality, affordable, low cost and low maintenance vehicles, and with the huge young population in Africa, China is about to make billions to trillions of money in Africa
This is not an endorsement of China, This is to show the mindset of a people who wants to build and be a superpower and those who are content and wants to be consumers at the bottom of the totem pole.
