In this bilingual lecture delivered at CEADA, AfroN8V provides his reflections for May 21st, deemed "dia de la afrocolombianidad" in Colombia. On this day, slavery was abolished in 1851. Annually now celebrated or commemorated in Colombia as "dia de la afrocolombianidad". The main source used for this lecture is Afrikan-"Colombian" scholar Manuel Zapata Olivella's book "Las Llaves de America". Homage is paid to Ayiti and President Petion.

I enjoyed this presentation. I learned about the side of Simon Bolivar that no one talks about. As for anti-Blackness in Colombia, I have often heard about it, but this presentation made me realize how bad the society is there for Black people. In Trinidad & Tobago, we also don't learn about Afrikan history and heroes in our schools even though the country is majority Black. We have the same issues throughout the diaspora.
