Submission Guidelines & Categories
Abibitumitv proudly presents this call for submissions for films that resonate with the profound theme: "What Black Power Is: Demonstration over Conversation." We invite filmmakers and producers to share visual stories that transcend mere dialogue, moving into realms of tangible impact, compelling action, and transformative narrative. We are dedicated to amplifying voices that empower, enlighten, and activate the spirit of Black self-determination and community growth.
Categories for Submission:
- Music Video: Visual storytelling set to music that embodies themes of Black empowerment, resistance, celebration, or cultural demonstration. (New addition to attract broader audience)
- Short Film / Documentary: Original works under 30 minutes in length that powerfully convey a message, highlight an action, or document a movement central to Black Power.
- Short Student Film: Creative and impactful works under 30 minutes, produced by students, exploring or demonstrating aspects of Black Power.
- Short Animation / AI Film: Innovative animated or AI-generated visual stories under 30 minutes that creatively interpret the theme of demonstration over conversation in the context of Black Power.
- Feature-Length Film / Documentary: In-depth narratives or documentaries over 30 minutes in length that offer substantial insight, present compelling evidence, or document significant actions related to the Black Power movement.
General Submission Requirements:
- Content Alignment: All submissions must directly engage with the theme "What Black Power Is: Demonstration over Conversation."
- Content Format: Please provide a secure link to your video (e.g., Vimeo, YouTube unlisted, private server). Ensure the link is active and password-protected if necessary.
- Logline & Synopsis: A brief, captivating one-sentence logline and a detailed synopsis (200-500 words) explaining how your film addresses the conference theme.
- Producer/Director Bio: A short biography of the key creatives involved, highlighting any relevant experience.
- Trailer (Optional but Recommended): A link to a trailer if available.
- Run Time: Please specify the approximate running time of your video.
- Rights: Confirm you hold all necessary rights for distribution and screening.
