QUESTION:
Just asking a question here 👉🏾 why did Haiti NOT align itself with other Black nations and Blacks in other regions while they gained momentum after their independence???
Now look at them...defeated, disrespected, humiliated etc...
ANSWER:
They did - Haitian Revolutionary leaders contributed military resources and support to liberate multiple territories in the region from Columbia, Bolivia, Peru, Venezuela, etc etc….
This is common knowledge.
It’s not Haiti’s fault if those same people decided to go against Haiti and align themselves with Europeans and turn their backs on Haiti after obtaining their independence.
Haiti did its part, and that’s all that matters.
Haiti did more than enough, and more than everyone else.
Haiti helped several South American countries gain independence, most notably Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador. Haitian Revolutionary Leaders provided Venezuelan leader Simón Bolívar with crucial refuge, money, weapons, and troops in 1815 when the South American independence movement was failing.
Countries Helped by Haiti
Venezuela: Received direct military supplies, ships, and safe haven for Bolívar, allowing him to return and restart the liberation campaign.
Colombia: Received thousands of rifles, gunpowder, and logistical support used in the Andean campaigns.
Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia: Benefited indirectly from the armed force support and strategic momentum enabled by Haitian aid to Bolívar.
Haiti Conditions of Support
Abolition of Slavery: President Pétion asked Bolívar and other South American countries to free enslaved people in the territories he liberated as a core condition for Haiti's help.
The greatness of Haiti WILL NEVER be written out of history.
The greatness of Haiti WILL FOREVER be written in history books.

NATIONS HAITI 🇭🇹 HELPED LIBERATE AFTER INDEPENDENCE
Haiti 🇭🇹 provided critical military, financial, and material support to Simón Bolívar, helping him liberate and secure independence for several South American nations from Spanish colonial rule.
In exchange for this massive backing, Haiti demanded that Simón Bolívar abolish slavery in every territory he liberated.
Nations Haiti Helped Liberate:
Through its direct assistance to Bolívar, Haiti laid the groundwork for the independence of Gran Colombia and the surrounding South American countries. The are more than six modern sovereign nations that directly benefit from Haiti’s independence and the legacy of assisting and supporting them in their independence struggle.
Simón Bolívar Agreement with Haiti 🇭🇹
In 1815, after suffering severe military defeats against the Spanish imperial forces, Simón Bolívar fled to Jamaica and eventually took refuge in Haiti. Haitian President Alexandre Pétion welcomed him and provided a massive lifeline of resources:
Resources Provided: Thousands of rifles, ammunition, food, financial backing, a printing press for revolutionary propaganda, and even Haitian soldiers.
The Solitary Condition: Haiti requested no money or territory in return. Haiti’s sole demand was that Simón Bolívar emancipate all enslaved people in the newly freed territories.
The greatness of Haiti WILL NEVER be written out of history.

Other Regional Impacts of Haiti’s Independence:
South America, Haiti’s revolutionary existence and direct interventions shifted the balance of power across the Western Hemisphere:
The Dominican Republic: Haiti played a complex role on its shared island of Hispaniola. Haitian forces initially abolished slavery in Santo Domingo in 1801 and 1822. Decades later, Haiti provided weapons and sanctuary to Dominican patriots fighting Spain during the War of Restoration in the 1860s.
Dominican Republic: Decades later, in the 1860s, Haiti gave weapons and safe ground to Dominican fighters working to end Spanish colonial rule.
The United States: By defeating Napoleon Bonaparte's army in the Haitian Revolution, Haiti severely weakened France's finances. This forced Napoleon to sell the massive Louisiana Territory to the United States in 1803, doubling the size of the U.S. overnight.
Haiti also help in Greece independence:
Greece: Received moral backing and a large shipment of coffee from Haiti 🇭🇹 to sell for weapon funds during its 1822 revolution against the Ottoman Empire.
Haiti was the first country in the world to officially recognize the Greek struggle for independence from the Ottoman Empire. On January 15, 1822, Haitian President Jean-Pierre Boyer sent a letter of solidarity and an estimated 25 tons of coffee to help fund the Greek revolution.
Material Aid: Having fought its own brutal revolution to free itself from French colonial rule in 1804, Haiti was economically devastated and burdened by massive, extorted French debts. To compensate, historians note that the Haitian government sent 25 to 45 tons of premium Haitian coffee to the Greeks. The commodity was highly valuable and meant to be sold to purchase weapons and ammunition to support Greek revolution and independence from the Ottoman Empire.
Though newly independent and financially strained, Haiti sent cargo of valuable coffee to be sold in Europe for weapons and military supplies for Greek revolution and independence.
There is a historical accounts which also speaks of about 100 Haitian volunteers who attempted to sail to Europe to fight alongside the Greeks, though historical accounts indicate they tragically succumbed to hardships at sea before arriving at Greece.
The Symbolic Bond: This transatlantic act honored Haiti's own hard-won freedom achieved in 1804 as the world's first free Black republic.
The greatness of Haiti WILL NEVER be written out of history.
The greatness of Haiti WILL FOREVER be written in history books.
