South Africa, a country that has a 90% Black population, selected a white woman as their representative of what their standard of beauty is.

@Nomfundo Bala: True. Even this Miss (name an African country) is a European concept and culture. It is not an African culture where you pick one woman and say she is the most beautiful woman in the country. Miss (name an African country) is solely a European concept.

@Kwabena Ofori Osei: true that, Hans I really don't care who wins it..... but I have a grievance with black people who participate in it, as if we want some validation from white folks. where's we have our own culture and traditions...

@Nomfundo Bala: So true. Wherever you find black people, they want validation from white people. We are fighting for DEI-Diversity, Equity, Equality, Inclusion with white people. We have our own rich beautiful culture and traditions but we have thrown our rich beautiful culture away and picked up culture and traditions that validates white peoples supremacy and domination over us as Black African and people.

University of the Free State sociologist Dr Nombulelo Shange links this hostility of afrophobia to South Africa's history of racism and the apartheid system - which imposed a strict hierarchy that privileged white people.
There is a "sad apartheid mentality that we are struggling to shake as a country", she said.
"It shows the deep self-hate that we as black South Africans carry with us."
Dr Shange added that South Africans have internalized oppressive racist reasoning such as colourism, where lighter to white skin tones are perceived as better.
Black South Africans see validation through whiteness.

It is soo sad, my mouth nearly dropped, when the commentator said “South Africa is gone. The Black man has lost South Africa.”

South Africa as a Black nation on the African continent is done, finished. I put South Africa in the same countries in North Africa; a Black Afrikan land that has been invaded and conquered and ripped out of the Black man’s hands by aAmw.

Black South Africans have accepted that they are a “RAINBOW NATION.”

Black South Africans have accepted they are a nation of different races (white on top: black at the bottom).

“We Are All South Africa”

@Nomfundo Bala: You are right that the Miss title does not define that Black people living in South Africa. But at the same time I was shocked and angry at soo many Black South Africans come and defend this white French woman because South Africa is a “Rainbow Nation.”

@Kwabena Ofori Osei: those are what we call clever blacks which are on the internet 24/7 holding conversation to fit in with the Jonse, and thats about 3% of the black & colored population where the '42% of the people they don't even care about that, all there are worried about is their next meal... then you get your 1% higher class who all they care about is what benefit them financial..... then you got the 17% religious folks who also dont really care.... then you got the 24% which mix the Black conscious, freedom fighter and spiritual who want nothing to do with the rainbow nor white folks.... and are more concernd about black libaration and for the most part their live in the out skirt of S.A where community & culture is still the thing

The “rainbow nation” slogan in South Africa was started under Nelson Mandela presidency.
