History documentary on the Mali Cavalry, Knights of Africa! Dive into this period with the book "Griots Tell No Lies".
⁣In this Units of History episode we turn our attention beyon the traditional confines of medieval history to explore the realm of West Africa and in particular the African Knights of the Mali Empire. We begin with a general overview of the region's geography which spans the vast, diverse lands between the Sahrara desert and the Atlantic ocean. We then explore the rise of the Ghana Empire which set the stage for our story. Upon this great power's fall in the 11th century of Medieval Africa, the region would fall into conflict. For a time the Sosso rose as successors. However they would be challenged by the southern Mandinka people. Their clash for the fate of the realm would be decided by the charge of heavy cavalry. But to understand the dynamics of this fight we cover the equipment, training, tactics, and organization of these Knights of Africa.

In this eye-opening video, I uncover the latest policies and potential travel bans under the Trump administration that could impact African Americans seeking second citizenships or visas abroad. Are certain countries being unfairly targeted? What does this mean for those looking for dual nationality or global mobility? Trump's proposed new travel ban would significantly restrict or prohibit entry to the United States for people from 43 countries. This travel ban poses a threat to second citizenship (i.e. dual citizenship). It poses a threat and targets multiple countries that are "friendly" to African Americans for travel, retirement, and investment. This ban includes four of the five Caribbean citizenship by investment countries and several other countries with programs offering citizenship to African Americans such as Burkina Faso, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Benin, and many more.

DR Congo: M23 Rebels March Towards South Kivu's Bukavu, Burundi Warns Rwanda | Firstpost Africa | N18G

As the Rwanda-backed M23 rebels continue their advance in the eastern DRC, the hearing of a historic case has begun at the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights. For the very first time, the court is hearing an inter-state dispute brought by the DRC against Rwanda over alleged human rights violations. M23 rebels have seized significant territory, including Goma, the largest city in the east. They are now advancing towards South Kivu's capital Bukavu and have seized two towns on the road to the city, Ihusi and Kalehe. Meanwhile, tensions are also escalating with other African nations. Burundi, which borders both DRC and Rwanda has warned of retaliation if its troops are attacked by the M23 rebels in DRC. Watch this video for more.
