Rwanda-backed M23 Rebels Capture Kavumu Airport, Move Closer to Bukavu | Firspost Africa | N18G

Rwanda-backed M23 rebels continue their advance in DR Congo's mineral-rich east. The rebels have seized the airport serving the city of Bukavu, the capital of South Kivu province. This represents a major strategic victory for the rebels, as it cuts off air supply routes for DRC army and humanitarian operations in the region. The rebels have so far North Kivu's capital Goma, the largest city in mineral-rich east. They have now entered neighbouring South Kivu and have seized Kavumu, where the army had set up a defensive line. After breaching this they can easily target South Kivu's capital Bukavu. Rebels' advance come as African leaders are gathering to discuss the crisis at the AU summit.

Countless Nigerians are dying needlessly due to the failure of basic services like ambulances, fire response, and the national 112 helpline, despite repeated government assurances and billions allocated to emergency response infrastructure.

A recent study published in the Journal of Public Health and Emergency indicates that only 21% of Nigerians involved in road crashes used emergency services, with an average response time of 30 minutes.

In this story, Gist Nigeria's Ayuba Illiya examines the depth of the crisis, focusing on real cases where lives were lost because help arrived too late or never at all.

Are small content creators facing loosing years of their unique works ie documentaries, videos, podcasts, interviews, viral clips from their YouTube channels due to YouTube's ongoing bans on channels across the platform that "violate" their constantly changing video and content guidelines on what is permissible to discuss without upsetting platform's owners and inflencial donors? From ClownFish TV: YouTube has gone on another banning spree, including a Pokemon content creator who was banned by AI moderation for stealing... his own content?! Even MoistCr1TiKaL has begun calling out YouTube over their seemingly insane and random channel deletions. But could something ELSE be going on here? Could YouTube know exactly what it's doing and WHY they're doing it? Could they be thinning the herd to get ready for the next phase of YouTube -- becoming a Netflix competitor? #youtube #streaming #podcast #commentary #news #reaction #gaming #comedy #entertainment #hollywood #popculture #tech #anime
