From its founding in 1945 during the height of colonial rule to its historical and present actions in Southern Africa, the Congo, Rwanda, and Palestine, the UN's structure continues to shield the powerful while placing the burden of accountability on the powerless.
True sovereignty for the Global South won't come from begging for a seat at someone else's table; it requires building independent, self-reliant institutions.
