Captain Ibrahim Traore, Burkina Faso's young and charismatic leader, steps up to the mic and drops a bombshell. He's pointing fingers at Ivory Coast and Benin, accusing them of some pretty serious shenanigans. And this is not pretty at all. Because after watching this video in full, you will ask yourself a very critical question. Is the West actually the problem of Africa or are Africans their own problem. But what's the deal? Let's break it down. Shall we? In a fiery speech to young supporters in Ouagadougou, Traore alleged that Ivory Coast and Benin are blocking goods destined for Burkina Faso at their ports. Now, that's a big deal for a landlocked country like Burkina Faso. Imagine if your neighbors decided to play keep-away with your Amazon packages. Not cool, right? But here's where it gets juicy. Traore didn't just stop at accusing them of being bad neighbors. Oh no, he went further suggesting that this blockade is part of a grand plan to "asphyxiate" Burkina Faso economically. Talk about high stakes! You see no country in the world plays with their economic interest or as many will say their national interest. That has been the cause of many wars in the past and present. You could ask the Americans and others. According to President Traore, the reason for Benin and Ivory Coast’s actions is because Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger quit the Economic Community of West African States and formed the Sahel Confederation. So, this is like you can’t eat your cake and have it.

Five years following strict technology exports bans aimed at Huawei, a Chinese electronics and telecommunications giant, the company is stronger and more profitable than ever. What's more, Huawei and thousands of other companies across China have embraced a "Delete America" strategy from all their supply chains.

Some officials maintain that the bans on Huawei exports and contracting have been successful, however, and point to laws that require US government contractors, the Pentagon, and allied countries to "rip and replace" Huawei gear from communications networks.

However, almost no real progress there has been made, as only a small percentage of US government contractors have made the switch, the Pentagon has asked for and received waivers each year so they do not have to comply, and our allies have flatly refused to replace Huawei telecommunications equipment.

When surveyed, Americans report historic low levels of confidence in our institutions, with corresponding high levels of distrust. Officials promised that tariffs will not lead to higher prices, that national security concerns necessitate banning affordable Chinese electric cars, and that Huawei represents a grave threat to the country. American citizens seem to reject most of those positions, as they continue to buy Chinese-made products in high volumes, and express to pollsters their hope to buy Chinese vehicles. As to Huawei, even the Pentagon and our biggest contractors are sticking with Huawei gear, given more costly alternatives.

Kwame Nkrumah was the leader of Ghana from independence until his deposition by a CIA-back coup d'etat in 1966, as well as one of the principal political and philosophical leaders of the Pan-African movement. While friendly with countries such as the Soviet Union, Nkrumah's Ghana was part of the non-aligned movement, and Nkrumah's political philosophy is typically described as a syncretic mixture of Marxism and traditional African cultural ideas.

While the defeats of socialist experiments in West African countries like Ghana and Guinea-Conakry urge reflection on the successes and failures of these ideologies and movements, Nkrumah remains a key figure in the history and competing ideologies of African liberation movements, and thus he, and Neo-Colonialism: The Last Stage of Imperialism, his most famous work, merit study in order to enrich our understanding of African history.

Medical researchers at Tsinghua University in Beijing have created an AI (Artificial Intelligence) hospital town. It can theoretically serve 3,000 patients per day with a small handful of doctors and staff.

In one example of their optimism in AI, doctors for the project claim that their accuracy in respiratory illness is over 93% on MedQA datasets. Respiratory diseases such as COPD and asthma have notoriously low accuracy in diagnosis and treatment, with high degrees of false positive and false negative diagnoses.

By employing Large Language Models across large virtual populations, and soon in real-world patient populations, China can transform medicine across the whole world. China is already the world's dominant manufacturer of most generic drugs, and is the key maker of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for the most expensive specialty drugs. Chinese companies are also primary makers of diagnostic equipment and medical devices. With advances in AI, tested across large human populations, personalized medicine may be a reality across most of the world. The US, however, will most certainly employ regulatory and licensing pressure to ensure high prices throughout our healthcare delivery systems.
