Mali's armed forces and Russia's Wagner Mercenaries have been handed a heavy. Tuareg separatists killed a number of Wagner & Malian troops near the northern town of Tinzaouaten. Ukraine's Intelligence Agency says it helped the Tuareg forces, by giving them vital information. Russia says that this proves that Ukraine is working with terrorists. Kwame Nkrumah was the leader of Ghana from independence until his deposition by a CIA-back coup d'etat in 1966, as well as one of the principal political and philosophical leaders of the Pan-African movement. While friendly with countries such as the Soviet Union, Nkrumah's Ghana was part of the non-aligned movement, and Nkrumah's political philosophy is typically described as a syncretic mixture of Marxism and traditional African cultural ideas.

While the defeats of socialist experiments in West African countries like Ghana and Guinea-Conakry urge reflection on the successes and failures of these ideologies and movements, Nkrumah remains a key figure in the history and competing ideologies of African liberation movements, and thus he, and Neo-Colonialism: The Last Stage of Imperialism, his most famous work, merit study in order to enrich our understanding of African history.

Medical researchers at Tsinghua University in Beijing have created an AI (Artificial Intelligence) hospital town. It can theoretically serve 3,000 patients per day with a small handful of doctors and staff.

In one example of their optimism in AI, doctors for the project claim that their accuracy in respiratory illness is over 93% on MedQA datasets. Respiratory diseases such as COPD and asthma have notoriously low accuracy in diagnosis and treatment, with high degrees of false positive and false negative diagnoses.

By employing Large Language Models across large virtual populations, and soon in real-world patient populations, China can transform medicine across the whole world. China is already the world's dominant manufacturer of most generic drugs, and is the key maker of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for the most expensive specialty drugs. Chinese companies are also primary makers of diagnostic equipment and medical devices. With advances in AI, tested across large human populations, personalized medicine may be a reality across most of the world. The US, however, will most certainly employ regulatory and licensing pressure to ensure high prices throughout our healthcare delivery systems.

Top Chinese scientists at US companies and universities are resigning their posts and returning to China. According to the Wall Street Journal, 40% of faculty of Chinese descent are also strongly considering a return.

This is after decades of work at the top universities and companies in the United States, and even includes naturalized citizens with American children. In interviews, they point to US government persecution, anti-Asian racism, and better career and economic prospects in China. What's more, Chinese universities have eclipsed top US unis in terms of research, and Chinese students are opting instead to finish graduate studies in Chinese universities, rather than abroad.
