HAPI Talks with Dr. Alicia Watkins about the Revolutionary Act of Black Love and its importance
Today, the planet is on the brink of ecocide. While summits like Glasco offer voluntary fixes, the real cause that must be addressed is a mad, destructive, despiritualized, western philosophy and science. This has led to waging a war on nature that has caused the overloading of the atmosphere with carbon dioxide that drives up the earth's temperature, melts polar ice caps, rises sea levels and causes extreme storms. It will take more than a quick fix to save the planet from ecocide. Planetary salvation requires a shift to a philosophy that rests on Maat and the Spiritual Blues, and a Spirit Science rather than a despiritualized science, along with energy systems such as solar energy and wind that work in harmony with nature rather than against it.

This study aims to discuss body part expressions in Akan (a Ghanaian language), Yorùbá (a Nigerian language), Kiswahili (a Tanzanian language) and r n Kmt ‘lit. the language of the Black Nation’. The paper addresses the common worldview whereby the concept and its articulation maintain a close connection to the literal real-world referent (the body part in question). The data is taken from collections of previously attested oral and written texts. The study demonstrates that there is a shared worldview continuum from ancient to contemporary Afrikan languages as manifested in body part expressions and that degree of proximity and similarity can be charted along a fundamental interrelation/fundamental alienation continuum.
Slave codes were a method of protecting the investment of white enslavers in the Colonies by restricting the lives of enslaved people in almost every imaginable way. The codes restricted enslaved people’s ability to move around, or engage in commerce that could make them financially independent - they restricted the very opportunities that would allow them to live with even relative freedom. Today, we'll learn about how Colonies put laws in place to restrict the movement and freedoms of both enslaved people and free Black people alike.
