Every so often we get to meet incredible people whose work intersects with ours, and the best way to tell their stories is to let them do it. We call this long-form series “Africa’s Stories on Africa’s Terms” and today, we are joined by Prof. Nii Laryea Osabu, a prominent culture custodian of Accra’s indigenous Ga people, and a professor of U.S. and African Diaspora history at Canada’s McGill University.
On Friday August 7, we were his guests at the 200 year commemoration of the Katamansu War, also known as the Battle of Dodowa, held in the ancient coastal town of Teshie. 3 days later, he dropped in to The Spearhead’s Accra studios and we had a very interesting conversation.
