In the late 1980s, Japan was on track to overtake America as the world's dominant economic superpower. Its companies were buying up Manhattan, its cars were crushing Detroit, and its stock market represented nearly half of all global equity value. Serious economists predicted Japan would be number one by the year 2000.

Then it all stopped. For thirty years.

This is the story of how the Plaza Accord, reckless monetary policy, the largest asset bubble in modern history, zombie banks, demographic collapse, and political paralysis turned the world's most dynamic economy into a cautionary tale that still haunts policymakers today.

From the postwar miracle to the moment Tokyo land was worth more than all of California — and the devastating crash that followed — this is the full, unfiltered story of Japan's Lost Decades.

How Japan became a superpower:
The United States government and western countries poured enormous resources into rebuilding Japan’s economy, not out of pure generosity, but out of geopolitical-national interests.

In the late 1980s, Japan was on track to overtake America as the world's dominant economic superpower.

Then it all stopped. What happened???!!!

Japanese emerged from WWII as an economic superpower by making high quality consumer goods (with the help of the U.S. government and western countries).
This brought Japan much wealth and prosperity.
With Japan economic boom, the result was that western countries started to run large trade deficits with Japan.
So the western countries met and decided that Japan needed to rollback their current economics structure in favor of a pure free trade economy —in favor of western countries, particularly the United States.

To do this, they needed to manufacture an economic crisis to get the Japanese to concede (The Plaza Accord).
Hence, the easy lending to the ordinary Japanese people that ensued. This led to the real estate bubble that occurred in Japan from 1986 to 1991.
This is the exactly equivalent to the mortgage bubble that occurred did in the United States from 2006 to 2008.

Out of the wreckage, the U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve took over the Bank of Japan.
Today, The Bank of Japan is legally under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve.

From there, the U.S. Federal Reserve do what it does best with its economic competitions, and nearly 30 years later, Japan economy still hasn't recovered yet.

What lessons can Africa learn from the Japan economic fall???!!!

In the late 1980s, Japan was on track to overtake America as the world's dominant economic superpower.

Then it all stopped. For thirty years.

But WHY???!!!!
This has everything to do with US imperialism.
The US government controls much of the information space in Japan, so people in Japan don’t can't get the whole truths —Japan is a U.S. colony.
The young generation of Japan today is one of the most "brainwashed" peoples in the world.
Less than 1% of Japanese are Christians, yet over 50% of weddings take place at Christian churches. They are indoctrinated by U.S. propagandized education, mainstream media, and Hollywood to admire everything America and despise China and Russia (Cold War effect).

The US always add fuel to the fire between the tensions of China and Japan in order to push and justify increase in military budgets of both US and Japan.
Japan is paying the U.S. for US military bases on its soil because they are "necessary" for Japan's security and of course the profitable arm sales businesses of U.S.imperialism.
Japan has the most U.S. military bases of any foreign country, with around 120 active U.S. military base installations.

The WHY: Could Japan have refused the terms of the Plaza Accord?
What could the US have done to punish Japan if it refused the Plaza Accord?
Sanction Japanese companies, tariffs, kick them out the global SWIFT banking system, or blockade oil and food like the US is doing to Iran or Cuba?
Were members of the Japanese government, like the LDP and Zaibatsu, so threatened by the U.S. government and the CIA and its then Yakuza affiliates that they had to be subservient to the US?
What lessons can Africa learn from the Japan economic fall and not fall under US bullying and domination?

Africa needs to get rid of US imperialism to save itself.
