"appealed not to just Afrikan Americans" -- that's why we shouldn't put so much stake in that film. The best, from a Black standpoint, is that it got people in diaspora more willing to wear Afrikan clothes. Once you get into 'all people liked it; -- right there is the limitation. Coogler is a multicultural enthusiast.

But why would arab oyinbo who genocide Black people out of Km.t care to support what does not benefit them? I expect them to do what they did. Baba Browder maximized a very compromised situation that shows that *power* must be considered and illuminates the problem/limitation of 'past glory' narratives.
