As 17 Afrikan countries mark 61 years since 'independence', we ask the question - Is Afrika truly independent, truly liberated and truly free?
Much fanfare surrounded the announcements and the continued commemoration of these days by nations across the continent - and our history books are full of accounts about how we got here... but what's the truth? What is Afrika dealing with and how do we face it?
Let's talk!

SYNOPSIS
Set in fifteenth-century West Africa, Malika: Warrior Queen follows the exploits of Queen and military commander, Malika, who struggles to keep the peace in her ever-expanding empire. Growing up as a prodigy, Malika inherited the crown from her father in the most unusual of circumstances, splitting the Kingdom of Azzaz in half. After years of civil war, Malika was able to unite all of Azzaz, expanding it into one of the largest empires in all of West Africa.
But expansion would not come without its costs. Enemies begin to rise within her council, and Azzaz grabbed the attention of the most feared superpower the world has ever known: the Songhai Empire. As Malika fights to win the clandestine civil war within the walls of her empire, she must now turn her attention to an indomitable and treacherous foe that plans to vanquish her entire people. From dragons to mythical relics, a feuding royal family and magical swords, the story of Malika: Warrior Queen stays true to the fantasy genre while adding something new by setting familiar concepts in an awe-inspiring African setting.

As the Holiday season comes to an end, we continue the series on Christianity and its origins in North Africa.

Tonight's discussion will be about Christianity and the Missionaries who brought it to West Africa. Whilst the Origins of Christianity can be found in Africa, what was brought back to us by Europeans was not what was exported to Europe.

Join me at the Mbongi Friday January 6th at 9PM EST as we welcome back Dr. Susan Tatah (host of Pan-African Daily TV). The topic of discussion is polygamy from an African village perspective. Dr. Tatah is the child of a polygamous household and grew up in the tradition. She provides us with insights into polygamy, its origin, function, and structure and why it may be a viable institution for African people today.

Paul Kagame secret master plan changed everything! Few people would have imagined that Rwanda economy would become a success story twenty-eight years ago. The country had seen an unfathomably horrific genocide, in which its most capable and educated individuals were cruelly slain. Hundreds of thousands of refugees lived in the country, which was impoverished to the point of starvation. It was landlocked, with turbulent and untrustworthy neighbors like the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and foes like Uganda.
Rwanda, against al odds, has recovered impressively from its catastrophic events. The country is ranked 49th out of 180 nations in Transparency International's annual Corruption Perceptions Index for 2020, making it one of Africa's least corrupt and stable governments. The president of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, has previously mentioned that he wishes to make Rwanda the "Singapore of Africa".
Join us in our video today, as we discuss Rwanda’s impressive economic development, and its ambition to become the “Singapore of Africa”. Be sure to like, subscribe and comment in the comment section below.
