PlayThe first image of the Milky Way's supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A*, has been released by the Event Horizon Telescope. Sgr A* is a supermassive black hole that lies 27,000 light years away from Earth at the center of the galaxy. Its mass is about 4 million times the mass of the Sun but a thousand times less than the black hole at the center of the M87 galaxy, the image of which was released back in 2019.
