The Archaic Humans of West Afrika

The video challenges the idea that modern West Africans primarily descend from ancient West Africans, pointing to the Ogolian hyper-arid period and dominance by archaic humans. Despite the existence of "ghost archaic DNA," modern West Africans trace their ancestry to the Shum Laka culture, not the archaic humans. Recent studies by Arun Durvasula and Sriram Sankararaman suggest introgression by an unidentified archaic hominin, contributing 2 to 19% of present-day Africans' ancestry. Specific genes with high archaic segment frequencies prompt the need for further analysis of modern and ancient African genomes. Despite attempts to misinterpret data for racist agendas, Marc Lipson et al.'s findings indicate modern West Africans derive 2% from archaic humans, 10% from the first Homo Sapien Sapiens in Africa, and 88% from a Hapi River Valley continuum.

It's hard to believe but silver was at one time worth more than gold. China used silver as their currency and the West had to pay in silver for Chinese goods. This angered the British and so they sought a commodity that the Chinese would be forced to buy. China did not covet any goods that the West had except one: Opium.

China's lust for silver helped establish their formidable economic position on the global stage. However, Western powers were reluctant to engage in silver trade and in their search for an alternative avenue they discovered something that would change history forever: Opium. As opium surged throughout the nation, it brought forth multifaceted societal issues, ultimately fueling the harrowing Opium Wars. These conflicts marked the onset of a devastating "Century of Humiliation" for China, leaving an indelible mark on its history and global standing
