Most of the time, the maths in our everyday lives works quietly behind the scenes, until someone forgets to carry a '1' and a bridge collapses or a plane drops out of the sky.

There is a joke that goes around about how some people started chicken farming with a feather to grow their now expansive farm..ok, that joke is just that, a lame one.. This post is not about a feather or chicken, meet Ann, she started their dairy farm back in 2007 in the wake of the highly contested general election. A true fact to her story is that they started with one zebu cow and kept improving their breed to currently over 150 high yielding dairy cows and 28 bulls. She has gone a step further and started processing the milk into Yoghurt, Mala, and the recent regulation by the government to stop the sale of raw milk brought about a new opportunity.. Ok, find out which this is. In her words, a cow doesn't eat from a plate!! plan your feeds for up-to one year! Also, remember to like, share, and subscribe ahead of an upcoming series on the A-Z of dairy farming which will run on a different YouTube Channel - Dairy TV..... #TwendeKazi

Syntropic agroforestry is a regenerative form of agriculture that has been notably implemented in Brazil. I recently traveled to Haiti (May 2021), to participate in a Syntropic Agriculture workshop. This method of agriculture is very promising in the area of reforestation. This video captures a fraction of the excitement and optimism concerning the potential on this form of regenerative agriculture. Thank you for your time.

On the one hand, we have drylands. They constitute 60% of the surface of the African continent, and while some might think they do not have much agricultural potential, they can actually sustain thriving agricultural practices, including – but not limited to – agroforestry systems.

On the other hand, we have youth. Young people are dynamic and innovative; have a high uptake of technological know-how; and are passionate, perseverant, and most of all, courageous.

During this Youth Daily Show, we want to explore the opportunities that agroforestry can bring to Africa’s drylands – not only as a sustainable food system, but also as an opportunity for youth employment and the achievement of food security for present and future generations. We will hear from amazing young professionals from across the African continent, who will share their experience with, and innovations for, dryland agroforestry.
