Rooted in Her Hands Ep.1 | Honouring Ms. Emma Dupree, Granny Woman & Herbalist
In this first episode of Rooted in Her Hands, we honour Ms. Dupree’s life, her “garden grown pharmacy”, and the generosity that shaped her legacy. She gathered herbs like sassafras, rabbit tobacco, mullein, and horseradish. Preparing teas, tonics, and remedies for anyone who needed them. She never charged for her work. She simply served.
Rooted in Her Hands is a Black Woman Plant Chronicle series for Black History Month 2026, celebrating Black herbalists, healers, and plant keepers whose wisdom shaped our past and continues to guide our future. New episodes every week in February.
