In Brazil, kinky-coarse-wooly-curly hair has always been considered ugly. In a video, an 8-year old black girl says her hair is ugly and that she wants to straighten it because "straight hair is pretty". The MK Party will celebrate its first anniversary at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban in December. The party, which is eyeing the eThekwini Municipality in the upcoming local government elections, has recently welcomed ANC and EFF members to its ranks.
Secretary-general Floyd Shivambu says the MKP is not a Zulu nationalist party but a national liberation movement seeking to liberate South Africa. "That is why it got to contest elections in all the nine provinces," he
adds.
