While the world has its eyes on the Ukraine and Palestine wars, another war has been raging: Sudan is currently suffering the worst humanitarian crisis of recent times. But browse the news headlines on an average day, and you won’t find anything about Sudan.

Why? This war happens to be in a part of the world that very few care about and has been struggling with its identity. My new documentary tries to showcase Sudan's beauty and potential and hopefully get you to care and talk about what has been happening.

You can also directly help as a viewer by sharing this video, speaking about Sudan, writing to your MPs and pressuring them to intervene in stopping the war, supporting the businesses of any Sudanese person in your city, and donating to any of the following trusted NGOs:

https://www.instagram.com/hometaxsd/
HomeTax Sudan was established during the 2019 Sudanese uprising. It focuses on providing food, shelter, and medical aid to people displaced by violence and unrest.

https://www.instagram.com/darfurwomenaction/
The nonprofit, with 501(c)(3) status, advocates for civilian protection, crime accountability, and lasting crisis resolution in Darfur. It focuses on maintaining global attention on Darfur, educating children in camps, and providing skills training and support for women survivors.

https://www.instagram.com/suda....nese_american_physic
SAPA responds to growing needs by offering on-the-ground support and raising funds to improve humanitarian and medical aid for those fleeing and distressed.

https://www.instagram.com/barana_hanabneiho/
The Humanitarian Aid Commission launched a Registered Emergency fundraiser to provide internally displaced persons food, water, and shelter. It is active in areas from Al-Jazeera State to Sennar State.

Off the coast of East Africa in the Zanzibar archipelago, lie the island of Pemba and islet of Kokota. When Mbarouk Mussa Omar visited Kokota a decade ago, it was teetering toward the brink of collapse. Deforestation and climate change had wreaked havoc on the tiny islet. He recognized that his island of Pemba could suffer the same fate and was determined to do something.

Toxic, Nuclear and Industrial waste dumped off the Somali coast by private interests.

Tankers and cargo ships from USA, Europe, Russia and Asia. were met with heroic resistance by Fishermen and local Militia's trying to protect the shoreline and the health of the population . But of course here in the west we didn't hear about the dumping of waste ... We only heard about how armed thugs were impeding commerce on the high seas. We will watch this unfolding situation with open eyes now. Go Somali Pirates

In Senegal, baobabs have long served as tombs for griots, or storytellers. They're seen as sacred, as they house the spirits of the ancestors buried in their hollowed-out trunks. But due to the health risks of decomposing bodies, it's rare to find a community that still practices the tradition. The Serere are one of the last.

On 4 February 1968, Martin Luther King, Jr., preached “The Drum Major Instinct” from the pulpit of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Ironically, two months before his assassination on 4 April 1968, he told his congregation what he would like said at his funeral: “I’d like for somebody to say that day that Martin Luther King, Jr., tried to love somebody” (King, “The Drum Major,” 185). Excerpts were played at King’s nationally televised funeral service, held at Ebenezer on 9 April 1968.King’s sermon was an adaptation of the 1952 homily “Drum-Major Instincts” by J. Wallace Hamilton, a well-known, liberal, white Methodist preacher. Both men tell the biblical story of James and John, who ask Jesus for the most prominent seats in heaven. At the core of their desire was a “drum major instinct—a desire to be out front, a desire to lead the parade” (King, “The Drum Major,” 170–171). King warns his congregation that this desire for importance can lead to “snobbish exclusivism” and “tragic race prejudice”: “Do you know that a lot of the race problem grows out of the drum major instinct? A need that some people have to feel superior … and to feel that their white skin ordained them to be first” (King, “The Drum Major,” 176; 178). Conversely, King preached that when Jesus responded to the request by James and John, he did not rebuke them for their ambition, but taught that greatness comes from humble servitude. As King put it, Jesus “reordered priorities,” and told his disciples to “Keep feeling the need for being first. But I want you to be first in love” (King, “The Drum Major,” 181; 182).https://kinginstitute.stanford.....edu/encyclopedia/dr for historical purposes.

The Real Mobile Phone Wars - DRC, 10 October 2001

As the high tech age takes over more and more of our lives manufacturers will go to any lengths to get the sometimes scarce minerals that go into them. Tantalum is one such rare ingredient. Few of us know that in the middle of Africa much human suffering is created in the pursuit of it.

Coltan is a valuable metal because it can be processed and manufactured into a component called a capacitor, which sits on the circuit board of mobile phone and other portable electronic devices. The Democratic Republic of Congo is the world's second biggest supplier of coltan (after Australia), supplying an estimated 18 per cent of the world market. The trouble with coltan from Congo is that it is fuelling the war there. Various rebel groups and militias are mining, stealing, taxing and/or smuggling coltan to raise funds for their war effort. A recent UN report has declared the trade in coltan from Congo illegal because the legitimate and internationally recognised Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo does not license it. Instead the trade of coltan is helping to destabilise that government. Our reporter, JULIANA RUHFUS, travels via Uganda across the Kasindi border crossing, to Congo, her quest to find the source of coltan. Her often dangerous journey takes her via coltan traders, miners and warlords including the Mayi Mayi.

CABRALISTA FOCUSES ON A. CABRAL'S LEGACY AND THE BIRTH OF THE "CABRALIST" MOVEMENT IN UPRISING AFRICA

Synopsis

The Movie is a 2011 documentary film by Valerio Lopes. It asserts a number of theory-based ideas born around Amilcar Cabral and the independents and human rights movements he led mainly in the 1960'ies.

Amílcar Cabral was a Guinea-Bissauan leader, writer, freedom fighter and politician, he was assassinated in 1973.

"Cabralista" reflects the collective memory, how this revolutionary theoretician whose influence reverberated far beyond the African continent is remembered. With never released voice recordings, humanist citations and quotes, timeless footage and cultured visual effects, this film is a unique vision of Africa yesterday and today.

From the first audience granted to an african freedom fighter by the pope Paul VI to Amílcar Cabral in 1970; to his speaking in front of the United Nations security council again as the first defender of African Independence, Cabral's unique work is remembered in this film by young African and Pan-African scholars filmed in Cape Verde, Libya, Portugal, Guinea Bissau ...

...

Inspired and artistically designed with the fantastic Opus of Amilcar Cabral in mind, the goal of this documentary is to put his theories and ideas in the spotlight. Comparing his work with actual cultural and social issues, like the foreseen north-african revolutions, the countries who helped Cabral in his struggle are identified in this movie by Amilcar Cabral's words that seemed to predict the actual facts.

The goal of this movie is to spread Cabral's words ...

... and wisdom and support the cabralist concept of re-africanisation of the spirit, recognised all around the world as a pillar of african emancipation.

Underlined with musical compositions that put the audience into a unique african atmosphere and supported by his own graphical look.
This 52 minutes long film is a mirror of African humanism and socio-cultural evolution and progress.

CIA Drug Trafficking Allegations
Committee members heard testimony concerning allegations that the

Central Intelligence Agency facilitated the introduction and spread

of crack cocaine in U.S. urban areas in order to fund Contra

activities in Nicaragua. Representative Millender-McDonald

testified that the report by the CIA Inspector-General was incorrect

and that the committee must pursue its own investigation of the

matter to uncover those responsible for this activity.

Inspector-General Hitz outlined his office’s report which finds no

evidence of any links between the CIA and drug traffickers in Central

America.
