The Black Blockchain Summit 2020 presents the following open ended discussion regarding the listed topic. All discussions were presented via live stream on September 12-13, 2020. Traditionally, the annual Black Blockchain Summit is an in-person and ticketed event held on the campus of Howard University.

To provide wider access, and to accommodate for the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic , all Summit activities were convened online and content provided for free to all registered participants of the Summit and to the global community via YouTube, Facebook, and Whova.

All opinions, ideas, and, references to intellectual property expressed in the following video are those of the individual speakers. Information shared should in no way be considered and endorsement by The Black Blockchain Summit. It is the mission of the Summit to provide access for conversation and convening, with the aim of ensuring a safe space for information sharing, education, and as our theme states, Global Black Survival!

Mwalimu K. Bomani Baruti is the co-founder and co-director of Akoben Institute, an independent Afrikan centered full-time and after-school home schooling and tutorial program for middle and high schoolers. Over the last half decade,

Bro. Baruti has also taught various Afrikan centered evening classes for adults at the Institute and online. Included in these was a writers’ workshop for those interested in writing and self-publishing. Moreover, he is an experienced chess teacher who taught chess at independent Black schools for over a decade. Bro. Baruti is the author of eighteen self-published books and he is currently working on a book entitled Asylum which examines the insanity of european culture and Identity which will reconceptualize a number of sociological concepts in Afrikan centered terms.

Bro. Baruti (fka Larry D. Crawford) served as Assistant Professor of Sociology at Morehouse College from 1991 to 2001. Committed to the students, he has served as the faculty advisor to numerous student organizations at Morehouse College, as well as other institutions in the Atlanta University Center.

Bro. Baruti lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife of 28 years, Yaa Mawusi Baruti, who is also the co-founder and co-director of their homeschooling program.
