Footage of a "funeral" held in Harlem to protest the murder of Patrice Lumumba, the first Prime Minister of Congo-Kinshasa.
Excerpt of Reuters News Text:
"With drums beating to attract attention, the African Nationalist Movement staged a demonstration of 200 Negroes in the Harlem district of the city ... It took place outside a Negro bookshop opposite the Hotel Theresa (where Cuban Premier, Fidel Castro, stayed when he made his famous appearance at the United Nations). Inside the bookshop was a coffin with a face mask of lumumba. The coffin was decked with flowers, and above it hung a scarecrow-like effigy of Lumumba with this printed message: "They lynched me".
Speakers denounced "colonist bandits" for his death as New York police stood by in case of trouble. Leader of the Movement, james Lawson, said: "Lumumba did not have a funeral - we are giving him one now." But police refused to let them take the coffin to the UN building."

APPEAL workshop on African Centered Education w/The Council of Independent Black Institutions (CIBI)
The Council of Independent Black Institutions (CIBI) was founded in 1972 and grew out of the 1960’s radical era of the Black Power Movement and social unrest against the injustices suffered by our people in this country. In the 1960s and 1970s, Black parents refused to allow their children to be educated in a system that didn't teach to their humanity, historical truth, or social reality. These parents formed independent Black institutions, often from basements, living rooms, and lawn chairs before acquiring buildings, later forming The Council of Independent Black Institutions. The African-Centered education movement has today spread to both public and charter schools, and CIBI and CIBI affiliated scholars have remained the vanguard of this movement.
People of African decent in American have historically suffered from a crisis of identity, miseducation, and an anti-socialization that leaves our people without the ability to institution-build and develop sovereignty for our own best interest. CIBI and other African-Centered independent/sovereign schools represent a success, and should be celebrated.

The MK Party will celebrate its first anniversary at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban in December. The party, which is eyeing the eThekwini Municipality in the upcoming local government elections, has recently welcomed ANC and EFF members to its ranks.
Secretary-general Floyd Shivambu says the MKP is not a Zulu nationalist party but a national liberation movement seeking to liberate South Africa. "That is why it got to contest elections in all the nine provinces," he
adds.

Abibitumi honors Baba Runoko Rashidi
Some of you may not know this, but Baba Runoko Rashidi was a pioneer in online teaching long before it became a “thing”. Baba Runoko had a tremendous influence on the course and direction of Abibitumi in its formative years.
He taught courses such as "Around the World with Runoko Rashidi" (2008), "The Global African Presence" (2010, 2011), "A Tribute to Great Black Women in History" (2011), "Who is the Original Man?" (2012), "The Ancient African Diaspora/The Modern African Diaspora Lectures" (2012) and many more!
Because of the very special relationship he had with us at Abibitumi during our formative years, we think that it is only right to honor this legend, this giant in the best way possible.
It is in this spirit that we will honor the life's work and dedication of Baba Runoko Rashidi, who dedicated his very life to the work of connecting the Afrikan=Black family.
Who was Baba Runoko Rashidi?
Baba Runoko Rashidi described himself as a scholar, historian, author and a lecturer. Born in 1954, the historian was about 67 years old when he passed away.
He held frequent seminars about African History, Pan-Africanism, and focused his work specifically on the global African presence, which details the movement of Africans outside Africa before and after enslavement.
Baba Runoko Rashidi was also a highly successful author, having published collections of essays, as well as books about Black culture and Black history. He was a prolific academic writer, publishing 22 books across his career.
These include The Black Image In Antiquity, Black Star: The African Presence In Early Europe, as well as Uncovering The African Past.
Baba Runoko Rashidi had travelled across the world, visiting 124 countries, as well as lecturing and teaching in 67 of them. In 2005 he received an Honorary Doctorate from the Amen-Ra Theological Seminary in LA.
Recently he had been researching African artefacts, and African cultural presence in museums around the world. He had also been part of the curatorial and academic board of the Pan-African Heritage Museum since 2020.
Is the sun yellow? Like in those pictures you drew as a kid? The answer is no. On this StarTalk explainer, Neil deGrasse Tyson and comic co-host Chuck Nice investigate the true color of the Sun.
Neil explains why the Sun’s true color is white. You’ll learn how the atmosphere takes the Sun’s white light and turns it into something else. You’ll also learn why the blue sky is stolen sunlight.
Lastly, Neil gives us a photography lesson and tells us how photographers deal with different light. We investigate indoor vs. outdoor light. All that, plus, Neil explains why snow being white is evidence of the Sun’s white light.

African people are heavily Christian, and many treasonous older Black people abuse children, undermine children and kiss European ass. The African parents under European rulership is a tool of White Hegemony!!
Black Studies Professor Kehinde Andrews explains how the legacies of colonialism have caused the global inequality of today, and details the West's place at the helm of a racist global order. The New Age of Empire is available to buy now: https://amzn.to/3rWkk6Q
The New Age of Empire takes us back to the beginning of the European Empires, outlining the deliberate terror and suffering wrought during every stage of the expansion, and destroys the self-congratulatory myth that the West was founded on the three great revolutions of science, industry and politics. Instead, genocide, slavery and colonialism are the key foundation stones upon which the West was built, and we are still living under this system today: America is now at the helm, perpetuating global inequality through business, government, and institutions like the UN, the IMF, the World Bank and the WTO.
The West is rich because the Rest is poor. Capitalism is racism. The West congratulations itself on raising poverty by increments in the developing world while ignoring the fact that it created these conditions in the first place, and continues to perpetuate them. The Enlightenment, which underlies every part of our foundational philosophy today, was and is profoundly racist. This colonial logic was and is used to justify the ransacking of Black and brown bodies and their land. The fashionable solutions offered by the white Left in recent years fall far short of even beginning to tackle the West's place at the helm of a racist global order.
Offering no easy answers, The New Age of Empire is essential reading to understand our profoundly corrupt global system. A work of essential clarity, The New Age of Empire is a groundbreaking new blueprint for taking Black Radical thought into the twenty-first century and beyond.
