Iran and the United Arab Emirates have been accused of violating a UN arms embargo by supplying drones to the warring sides of the Sudan civil war.
A BBC investigation has documented the Sudanese Army's use of types of Iranian drones in its war against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Evidence has also emerged that the RSF received modified commercial drones from the UAE.
Foreign-made drones prominently changed the course of the war on the ground since their appearance in 2023.
Sudan's armed forces have been fighting the RSF for the last 14 months.
The BBC has contacted the Sudanese army, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Qeshm Fars Air to comment on the allegations that Iranian drones are being used in the conflict but has not had a response.

The International Law of Colonialism: Professor Robert J. Miller Dismantling the Doctrine of Discovery - University of Arizona
I had the opportunity to speak at the Abibitumi Conference on the theme, Black Power: Vision to Reality.
Enjoy.
In this lecture, historian and author Gerald Therrien introduces the turbulent world of 1787-1804 which shaped (and was in turn shaped by) the Haitian Revolution establishing the world’s second republic.
This was a world shaped by battles within America itself between opposing factions of Americans who read the newly established Constitution from diametrically opposing worldviews. These faction fights saw anarchistically minded followers of Thomas Jefferson attempt to pull America into European intrigue and promote the rights of slave owners to their human property vs patriots led by Alexander Hamilton who strove to establish the young nation’s economic sovereignty and constitutional mandate tied to the unalienable rights of all man regardless of skin color.
It was a world shaped by oligarchical manipulations that turned the hopes of the French revolution into a Jacobin bloodbath and unleashed divide-to-conquer wars across the world.
It was a world that saw an uprising in a small slave-dominated plantation economy led by the great revolutionary Toussaint Louverture who single-handedly outflanked all three major empires of Europe (French, Spanish and British) struggling to control the Americas which ultimately led to the establishment of the Haitian Republic in 1803.
Therrien discusses how Louverture’s multi-level fight led directly into an exasperated Napoleon’s decision to sell Louisiana to the Americans in 1803, and how British operations in Canada were forever shaped by these actions.
This lecture also reviews the little-known British-directed plot to break up the United States with the early 1803 secessionist plot led by Aaron Burr and the “Essex Junto” which strove to unite the U.S. “free” states with the Canadian provinces.
Without understanding these dynamics then it is impossible to comprehend such things as the murder of Louverture-ally Alexander Hamilton at the hands of Aaron Burr in 1804 or the nature of America’s (and Haiti’s) evolution over the next 200 years.
This lecture is part of a larger series sponsored by the Rising Tide Foundation entitled "A Harmony of Interests: Inquiries into the True Nature of the American System" https://risingtidefoundation.net/events/

Walter Rodney - Crisis in the Periphery: Africa and the Caribbean - NYC - Unknown Date of Lecture
Video 43 in the Introduction to Ethnobotany series. Presented by Orou Gaoué.
Africa is the second largest continent and has the second largest rainforest block. Africa has diverse plant resources and indigenous communities that still rely largely on plants for their livelihood. This episode discusses uses and management of plant resources in West Africa in three parts: First, are presented the distribution of ecological variation and human population density in Africa. People populate mostly the savannah region of the continent, leaving the vast infertile desert and the harsh rainforest regions less populated. Increasing population density and its concentration in the savannah areas is, among other reasons, responsible for high forest degradation rates and high plant harvesting impact in Sub-Saharan Africa. Second, the different indigenous uses of plant resources are reviewed: food, medicine and cosmetic, fodder, firewood and charcoal, building and timber. There is a severe firewood crisis in the region and harvesting non-timber forest products such as tree fodder, tree bark for medicine, is participating to the degradation of the forest. Third is an analysis of indigenous as well as government management strategies of forest and forest resources. Sacred forests and agroforestry parklands are some of the traditional ways of conserving plant species of local interest. The state management strategy has shift from an official protectionism of the state reserve forest, to a more participatory approach, although the level of implication of indigenous people has varied over the years.
On 2 October 1958, Guinea became the first of France’s colonial territories in Sub-Saharan Africa to declare its independence in an act of defiance against its former colonial master.
Ahmed Sekou Toure, known as a charismatic and radical figure in Africa's post-colonial history, was the leader of the country at the time and he was driving this rebellion by the former French Colony.
However, Guinea and Sekou Toure, achieved this status of independence against the wishes of its former colonial master, France, and afterwards the nation faced an onslaught of administrative and diplomatic assault by the French which seemed to have been designed to drive the country to its knees.
The french colonial elite in Paris got so furious with Sekou Toure’s defiance, such that in an act of fury the french administration in Guinea destroyed everything in the country which represented what they called the benefits from french colonization.
After this whole fiasco, Toure would go on to rule the country of Guinea for 26 years, and his time in power and legacy divided opinions.
In this episode of African Biographics, we look at the life and legacy of Ahmed Sekou Toure, Guinea’s first president who stood up to the French, and his time in power as the leader of that country.

In my household, we pride ourselves in the work of our hands. We believe that for as long as the rain falls and our health does not fail us, we will work and we will not go a day hungry because our fields will provide.
From a young age, we are introduced to the daily chores at home and are taught how to work the fields, when to plant and sow, when to plough and repeat. I am forever grateful for my upbringing and I will always be grateful to my mom for instilling our ways in us, from a young age and for being able to house and take care of all 27 of us. #thegreatharvest #villagelife #namibia

In today’s episode of Obehi Podcast, you will hear Dr. Luyaluka talk about The Unity Of African Traditional Religion. Dr. Luyaluka explains that the conflict between science and religion in Western thought is the result of a materialistic choice that led to the defenestration of the soul from the field of acquisition of knowledge.
After architectural studies and a brief career in Christian Science teaching and lecturing, Dr. Kiatezua Lubanzadio Luyaluka earned a Ph.D. (Honors) degree in Apologetics from Trinity Graduate School of Apologetics and Theology of Kerala, India.
