In previous Powered by Ancestry episodes, I have made reference to rituals used for ancestral connection and work. In this episode, I shared several simple but effective rituals I have used over the years. Disclaimer: though these are general rituals which anyone can do, what I am sharing is my experiences in having using them, rather than advising viewers or prescribing them. Hijo del Sol (Son of the Sun) is a song interpreted by Balanta Asante inspired by the book "Moors on the Coast" written by the Afrikan "colombian" author Alberto Angola.

Balanta Asante is an ⁣Afrikan from the Northern hemisphere who migrated to Boriken (Puerto Rico), learned Boricua Spanish and spitting Pan-Afrikan and Kmtyu-centered lyrics in the language. Was given the name Balanta Asante by the Afrikans in the Southern hemisphere ("colombia").

Zanzibar, a Melting pot of culture, Art and Religion Zanzibar is an island on the east coast of Africa. Zanzibar is renown for its warm hospitable people, its rich spices and the rich history as a trading port. This documentary aims to reveal the secret to cultural diversity and co-existence through the lens of an Omani Plantation owner, a painter, a Taarab singer.

The videoclip Ponto de Luz, of Sara Tavares, was created using the Stop Motion technique, which means taking pictures to objects, persons or situations, frame by frame, putting then everything together in a video sequence which creates the illusion of movement. From here, comes also the Timelapse technique, which means taking pictures with a regular constant break, for example, minute by minute, during a long period of time which creates the illusion of time passing by (shadows, clouds, sea, cars, people, etc)

For this vídeo it were taken 4500 photos, and used in the final edition 3000.

Four farmers from the Eastern Region in Ghana share their experiences on fruit fly control: 1) How to build a fruit fly trap for monitoring. 2) How to install it in the tree. 3) How to use a protein bait to control fruit flies. 4) The role of farm hygiene in fruit fly management.

This is a participatory film. Farmers wrote the script and decided on the messages to share with their colleagues.

Brands like BYD, Nio, Xpeng, and Geely have emerged as strong contenders, especially in the EV segment. As these brands continue to improve their products, they’re gaining the respect and interest of local buyers who are impressed with both the performance and technology offered by these vehicles.

Chinese automakers have taken bold steps in innovation, investing heavily in electric technology, smart car features, and even autonomous driving capabilities, all of which align well with the desires of the modern Chinese consumer. This is especially true in an era where young buyers, who are often more tech-savvy and environmentally conscious, make up a significant part of the market. These younger consumers are often more interested in the latest technology and eco-friendly options rather than traditional luxury status, making local EV brands even more appealing.Another key factors driving the success of Chinese brands is their focus on electric vehicles. China has been a global leader in the adoption of EVs, supported by government policies and incentives aimed at reducing pollution and promoting sustainable transportation. As a result, Chinese automakers have been able to capture a significant share of the EV market, outpacing their German counterparts.
