⁣"Rice is our Business" - Ghana

Julius Nyerere was the first prime minister of free Tanganyika from 1961 to 1964, later he became the first President of new state Tanzania.
He was very famous among the Africans nationals because of his political journey and struggle. He was known as a "Mwalimu(means teacher)".
He was one of the key person to unite Africans national into a union, Organization of African Unity (OAF), now it known as African Union.
In this interview, he is in conversation with Saeed Naqvi discussing his motivations and vision for Tanzania and the issues concerning the country.

The village of Dablo is quite typical of the lively, busy, creative rural farming village of much of West Africa. People spin and weave cotton, brew millet beer, form and fire pottery, smelt and forge iron, dance and sing, and enjoy life.

Stakeholders in the construction sector have expressed concerned about Ghanaian laborers ultimately losing jobs in the thriving sector to their counterparts from other parts of the sub-region.

According to them the poor level of training of the average Ghanaian construction worker coupled with their poor attitude to work can be blamed for the growing preference for specialised workers from countries like Togo and Nigeria.
