A beautiful moment in the middle of Lucky's concert that showcases the vocal talents of his back-up singers and band. A heartfelt wish for Africa and humanity: to be free.

Don't be wise in your own eyes
Never be wisest in your own eyes, or look down on people.

The storyteller
Lawrence Kwaku Boateng, Ghana
More from this storyteller: Interview with Lawrence Kwaku Boateng (b)

Don't be wise in your own eyes (Twi)
One morning as God was relaxing in his bed he heard a knock on the door. When he opened the door he saw Anansi. 'God I have realised I 'm the wisest person in the world', Anansi said to God. God told him that he would give him a cow and that he should take it around the world. If you find somebody that is wiser than you, bring him back to me and I will crown him the wisest person. If you don't find anybody, you will bring back the cow to me and I will crown you the wisest person. Kwaku Anansi took the cow and set off. On his journey Anansi met a young orphan on the outskirts of a village. The boy proves to Anansi that he is wiser, and Anansi sends him to God to be crowned wisest man on earth. Never be wisest in your own eyes and never look down on other people.
