The islands of San Andres, Providence/Providencia, and Santa Catalina, were originally colonized by the british and therefore are more culturally similar to the other Black populated english-speaking Caribbean islands, although they are a departamento (akin to state in the u.s.) in the South "american" nation state of colombia today.
