Teenage years for young people and the adults in their lives can be a difficult transition period. They are not adults nor are they children. Rather than participants in this part of the game of life, parents and ancestors are more coaches and cheerleaders on the sidelines, guiding those teenagers and providing them with guardrails, the most effective of which is humility (you don’t know it all) and anchoring (staying grounded along one’s path).

HOODOO CAST - Episode 2: Old Black Belt Hoodoo Ft. Dr. Katrina Hazzard

HOODOO CAST: Podcast for Authentic Hoodoo - Akan Ancestral Religion in North America

Odwirafo travels to Philadelphia to dialogue with Dr. Katrina Hazzard, author of Mojo Workin': The Old African-American Hoodoo System. Her work is the first to document the transformation of Hoodoo from a full-fledged Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit (African) Ancestral Religion when it first arrived in North america during the enslavement era to its expressions today. The recent resurgence of interest in Hoodoo, its ethnic origins as Akan Ancestral Religion and the exploitation by foreign, non-Black, marketeers attempting to resell our culture to us are examined.

With the fall of Granada, the Age of Discovery begins! First up is Henry the Navigator. Henry was the son of John I. He set Portugal on the fast path to discovery. His patronage allowed for the exploration of the coast of Africa, naval improvements like the Caravel, and he was renowned as creating his famous School of Navigation (which may not have existed).
