The neutrino is among the cagiest of particles, a subatomic wisp so ephemeral it could pass through light years of lead with more ease than a hot knife through butter. Despite its extraordinary abundance in the universe—billions pass through your body every second—this ghostly particle is notoriously difficult to trap, inspiring some of the most sophisticated detectors in science just to study it. A closer look could change everything. The elusive neutrino holds clues to some of the most profound questions in particle physics: What happened in the briefest moments after the Big Bang? Why does the universe contain more matter than antimatter? Join leading researchers as they chase neutrinos and other elusive particles in search of nature’s fundamental order.

"A white couple from rural West Virginia is back behind bars after a judge revoked the initial bond and raised it to $500,000 apiece — more than double the amount they faced last year when police arrested the pair on charges of locking their adopted Black children in a barn and forcing them to work as “slaves.”
Donald Ray Lantz, 63, and Jeanne Kay Whitefeather, 62, both of Sissonville, were ordered to reappear in Kahanwha County Court on June 11, more than eight months after each posted a $200,000 bond following their arrests in October.
At the time, police conducting a wellness check at the Cheyanne Lane home were shocked to discover two of the couple’s five adopted children living in deplorable conditions, padlocked inside a ramshackle storage shed on the back of the property, which had no working lights or running water."

Goats play a transformative role around the world, particularly in harsh environments - reflecting climate, vegetation or conflict. They transform the most indigestible plant material into meat, milk and skins and are also increasing the economic independence and resilience of rural women.
Rothamsted is researching the role of goats in smallholder systems in Malawi and Botswana - focused on nutrition, socioeconomics and parasitology (through targeted selective treatment using metabolites from bioactive plants). Goats have always been a priority for Farm Africa, providing them to vulnerable women living in rural eastern Africa - supported by animal health and business development services, empowering them to increase incomes and improve their families' nutrition.
Meanwhile, in the UK, Bristol’s Street Goat connects families and individuals with the joys of working with animals and nature - increasing understanding of their food. Local people collectively manage and care for them in urban areas, producing sustainable and healthy animal food products reared on overgrown and unusable urban land.
Chaired by Prof Mark Eisler, the workshop will reflect the transformative role goats are playing in ownership of household assets in Malawi and Botswana, transforming the lives of women and children in Ethiopia and Uganda and turning brambles into milk in Bristol.

Bla Xit Family, thank you for joining the channel to watch another episode of Bla Xit your guide to repatriation to relocate in Africa. Because we are in Lockdown most of our programmes are now based in The Gambia. After seeing recent events unfold in China where gross human rights abuses and criminal activity including physical attacks and abuse and forced removal of our African sisters and brothers from their homes I urged a boycott of all their products and services. When I did this I did not intend to harm existing African businesses that had existing franchises or that sold Chinese products before this plandemic! So one such business that was affected by the boycott was a local shop that I actually shop in! Opps so to reprieve myself and to apologise I have made a video in their shop. I realised the importance of us being able to mine our own metals ourself, smelt them ourself, process and mould them and create them and manufacture them ourselves, distribute and market them ourselves and purchase them ourselves. This Sao family enterprise SAO is based on this premise. They gave me hope for the future, their ambition is to mine, manufacture and sell their own tools in the future. Lets support them, like they said in the video they have to learn how to do it and all aspects of the business to be the best. I really admire them so please give this video a lot of likes and shares and please subscribe if you haven't already. We are aiming to get to 100,000 subscribers and we can do it if we put our mind to it! Become a Bla Xit Champion and get us lots of subscribers by sharing please?
We want to thank Wode Maya our inspiration for starting us on our way and continuing to support us. Big up all of the Vloggers and Bloggers changing the narrative of Africa.

For years, armed groups have instilled fear in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Hundreds have been killed, and millions are diplaced in the North Kivu and Ituri provinces.
The president has instructed the army to take charge of the two regions for a month.
Soldiers have been given broad powers to conduct searches, make arrests and ban public gatherings.
So will this be enough to stop the violence?

As an introduction, this film shows how NGOs use the Living Classroom series as integral to their training, using pause-points and practical lessons outside to encourage thinking about different ideas and techniques. When the films were piloted with farmers in Swaziland, data was captured on changes in participant knowledge and comprehension.
Without prior knowledge on the topic/film, the knowledge baseline was 24%; after watching the film once without pausing for discussion, this increased to 57%; and when facilitated with pause-points for discussion, this increased to 78%.
Using Living Classroom films as part of facilitated co-learning therefore represented an increase of over 325%.
This film shows how Swazi NGO, Guba has used the Living Classroom, as part of its interactive facilitation.

I'm your host, and today we're diving into some major developments coming out of Burkina Faso that are sending shockwaves through the region.Folks, we've got a political drama unfolding that reads like something straight out of a Hollywood thriller. The young revolutionary leader Captain Ibrahim Traore has just made a stunning move against his predecessor and other high-ranking military officials. But before we get into the juicy details, let me ask you this:How far would you go to protect your country's sovereignty? And at what point does removing perceived threats become a witch hunt?
For finals, each student played the role of a famous person or someone in her/his family. Enjoy!

Video 43 in the Introduction to Ethnobotany series. Presented by Orou Gaoué.
Africa is the second largest continent and has the second largest rainforest block. Africa has diverse plant resources and indigenous communities that still rely largely on plants for their livelihood. This episode discusses uses and management of plant resources in West Africa in three parts: First, are presented the distribution of ecological variation and human population density in Africa. People populate mostly the savannah region of the continent, leaving the vast infertile desert and the harsh rainforest regions less populated. Increasing population density and its concentration in the savannah areas is, among other reasons, responsible for high forest degradation rates and high plant harvesting impact in Sub-Saharan Africa. Second, the different indigenous uses of plant resources are reviewed: food, medicine and cosmetic, fodder, firewood and charcoal, building and timber. There is a severe firewood crisis in the region and harvesting non-timber forest products such as tree fodder, tree bark for medicine, is participating to the degradation of the forest. Third is an analysis of indigenous as well as government management strategies of forest and forest resources. Sacred forests and agroforestry parklands are some of the traditional ways of conserving plant species of local interest. The state management strategy has shift from an official protectionism of the state reserve forest, to a more participatory approach, although the level of implication of indigenous people has varied over the years.
