In this episode of Truth Africa Series (brought to you by Historical Africa), we will be reacting to Dr. Henrik Clarke speech on religion in Africa.

The colonization of Africa was not just about political control; it also aimed to reshape African societies in the image of the colonizers.
One way this happened was through religious imposition. European powers, driven by a belief in their cultural and religious
superiority, sought to convert Africans to Christianity, often suppressing indigenous religions in the process. This cultural assimilation
served to consolidate control and legitimize colonial rule.

Religion has often been an instrument used to maintain power and control over populations. In the context of Africa, religion
was used as a tool to justify economic exploitation and the subjugation of Africans. Missionaries preached the superiority of
European Christianity, portraying African religions as primitive or demonic, and using this narrative to justify colonization and the
extraction of Africa's resources.

The conversion of Africans to foreign religions was also strategic for maintaining political and social control. By imposing their
religions, colonizers sought to weaken traditional societal structures, including indigenous spiritual practices, which often played a
significant role in governance and cultural identity. Conversion to foreign religions served to alienate Africans from their traditional
roots, making them more submissive to colonial authority.

Inside the Secret Network Fueling Sudan's War: The UAE Support and Backing of RSF Crimes
Inside the Secret Network Fueling Sudan's War: The UAE Support and Backing of RSF Crimes Kwabena Ofori Osei 12 Views • 3 months ago

A new investigation has uncovered how the United Arab Emirates (UAE) supports a secret network of military training camps for the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) that enables them to continue their deadly war in Sudan.

"This war, which is often categorized in international media as a civil war, is really a proxy war," says award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker Julia Steers. "We're talking about a really extensive network of logistics and training and financial backing from the UAE."

The investigation is a collaboration between Lighthouse Reports, Evident and Sudan War Monitor.

Meanwhile, as the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk warns another humanitarian catastrophe is unfolding the North Kordofan state capital of El Obeid, where the RSF and the Sudanese army are fighting for control, "there's no question that the RSF would not be able to have gotten as far as they have, to have claimed nearly as much territory as they have, without the really robust support of the UAE," says Steers.

The AES Is Really Building: The AES Is Building What ECOWAS Was Supposed To Build
The AES Is Really Building: The AES Is Building What ECOWAS Was Supposed To Build Kwabena Ofori Osei 15 Views • 1 month ago

he AES parliament just opened in Niamey. Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger now have a joint army, a bank, a passport and a legislature. Here's what the Alliance of Sahel States is really building after ECOWAS.

In August 2026, forty-five deputies sat down in Niamey and opened the first confederal parliament of the Alliance of Sahel States. Fifteen from each country. Three committees: defence and security, diplomacy, development.

It looked like a small story. It isn't.

In six years, Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger went from three separate coups to a mutual defence pact, a 6,000-strong joint force, a confederal development bank, a common passport, a shared import levy, and now a parliament. That is the architecture of a state, built at speed, during a war.

But there's a constraint no resolution can fix. All three countries are landlocked. Every container and every litre of fuel still crosses a border that belongs to someone else.

In this episode we follow the evidence: what was actually built in Niamey, why Sahel security numbers finally improved in 2025, what West African port data reveals about who really holds leverage, and why Morocco is now offering the Sahel a different road to the Atlantic entirely.

No cheerleading. No dismissal. Just the receipts.
