This is a poem for Nana Benkos Bioho. He was a Black Freedom Fighter in the spanish colony of nueva granada which is in the present day neo-colony of colombia in Southern Abya Yala (indigenous name for "the americas"), in the late 1590s and early 1600s, and was known for leading the charge with other Abibifoɔ (Black people) to fight our captor enemy and establish free Black societies in the Caribbean region of the Abya Yala mainland. The poem contains a sprinkling of words from our Abibiwiase (Black World) languages such as Twi & Palenkero.

On Saturday, 24 January 2026 (2:00 PM GMT), Abibitumi Headquarters (1 Abibitumi Way, Akuapem Mampɔn, Eastern Region, Ghana) hosted a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing and the unveiling of the Black Panther Party Cubs (BPPC) Ghana Community Embassy / Continental Liaison Office.This event is about REPATRIATION (not “reparations” in the conventional sense). The purpose of the BPPC Community Embassy is to serve as a structured point of contact on the continent—providing reception, orientation, and practical pathways for BPPC members and families (and aligned networks) who want to repatriate to Ghana and beyond through values-aligned support.IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION (for accurate reporting):Some early coverage mistakenly framed this event as the unveiling of Abibitumi as the UNIA embassy. Sudan government announce $643 Million investment in Railway Network redevelopment - The Sudan railway network, half of which is abandoned, is set for a US$ 643 million makeover as part of current Sudan government efforts to revive an economy ravaged by decades of dictatorship and global isolation. The African Development Bank, China State Construction Engineering Corp. Ltd., and unidentified Gulf firms, according to Sudan Railways Corporation (SRC), are keen on assisting the North African country in restoring the approximately 2,400 kilometers of idle rail lines.
The railway networking project will be carried out in stages. The government intends to spend US$17 million in the first stage on emergency repairs to parts of the network that are currently in use. This network, according to the SRC's general manager, Waleed Mahmoud Ahmed, during an interview with sudan news agency, is critical for the country's economic development.

"Our goal is to show Africa as it really is: The good, the bad, the ugly, the potential," says John Allan Namu, an investigative journalist in Nairobi, Kenya.
He co-founded Africa Uncensored, an investigative journalism collective that works to hold the government accountable and cover stories often unreported by the media.
They are working on a massive story: The government is believed to have misappropriated millions of dollars after Kenya's health minister signed a multi-million dollar deal in 2015 for what he said was much-needed hospital equipment. The government also promised to invest in the improvement of Kenya's medical services, which were seen to be especially failing the poor.
Namu had received a tip-off from a source, leading him onto the case.
"The data set that we received showed us that there are corrupt networks in many, many places. But the place we chose to focus our attention on was on the ministry of health because this is one of the president's key pillars for delivery to the public," he says.
"And it seems as if it's either has been hijacked or it was formulated to steal from this country."
They carry out their investigation, using hidden cameras to confront an official, despite fears of reprisal.
Meanwhile they feel the urgency to publish as they speak to those most affected by failures in the health system, including a mother who could not afford her cancer treatment.
Still, the team maintains their faith in the power of journalism.
"I think that they key role of journalism is that we publish the things that some people don't want published, even if that means that we are scared. Because at the moment that citizens have the information that they require to live their lives, that's when positive change happens," Namu says.
