Huawei tightens its grip on global telecom markets in another failure of U.S.&Western sanctions
Huawei tightens its grip on global telecom markets in another failure of U.S.&Western sanctions Kwabena Ofori Osei 33 Views • 2 years ago

Huawei is China's largest electronics company, and is specifically targeted by Western sanctions. The sanctions are intended to both deny Huawei access to the fastest semiconductors, and to prevent Huawei from selling products in American and European markets.

While most of the recent headlines involving Huawei relate to their introduction of smartphones that were thought to be impossible for them, Huawei is first and foremost a telecommunications hardware company. And recent developments in those market segments have only strengthened Huawei across the world.

Perhaps most ironically of all, Huawei has benefited from being locked out of the North American telecommunications market, as the United States has seen major declines in investment and upgrades.

Huawei is far ahead of global rivals in the telecom space, and is doubling down on its efforts to roll out 5.5G technology across the Global South countries. As the company does so, it is a boon to thousands of other Chinese manufacturers, and producers of electronics and other gear that runs on Huawei networks.

Vertical Micro Gardening - IDEAS For Uganda
Vertical Micro Gardening - IDEAS For Uganda Ambakisye-Okang Dukuzumurenyi 28 Views • 5 years ago

It is estimated that by 2030 nearly 50% of the world's population may live in urban areas. Consequently, many millions of acres of productive farmland are expected to be lost to housing and industrial usage. In Uganda, the lack of appropriate farmland, low incomes, unemployment, and natural disasters have resulted in very poor food security. This makes the country’s chances of halving poverty and hunger by 2030 very slim. Uganda and other African countries need to increase agricultural productivity in a sustainable manner through innovative approaches, particularly in dense urban areas.

On top of this, Kampala is facing a major issue with urban waste management, where nearly 28,000 tons of waste are delivered to city landfills each month. However, according to the Kampala Capital City Authority, this represents only 40% of the waste generated in the city. The rest ends up in unauthorized sites. Often on city streets and in dense urban areas, causing significant environmental and human health problems.

So in 2014, a group of students at the Makerere University chapter of IDEAS For Uganda, led by Mr. Paul Matovu, developed an innovative approach to urban micro-gardening and integrated waste management in Kampala, a social enterprise called “Vertical Micro-Gardening” (VMG), the first of its kind in Uganda.

Your African Kingdom South of Egypt. Part 1
Your African Kingdom South of Egypt. Part 1 Baka Omubo 56 Views • 5 years ago

Simply asked, which country today is south of Egypt? How powerful is it? In ancient times what did it do to EGYPT? Where are the descendants of that Kingdom? Are current tribes in that country children of the older kingdom south of ancient Egypt? Are they Nubians, Kushites, Meroe, Or Sudanese? Are the Arabs ruling Egypt the sons and daughters of ancient Egyptians? Why is this powerful kingdom south of Egypt rarely taught in schools , universities or blasted in televisions Movies etc. Is Nubia that kingdom? Yet it has many names! Let us share a Brief history of Modern Sudan and WHY it is being hid from the mass consciousness. Sudan became independent in 1956.Then Why did the Republic of South Sudan secede from the North? The decision to secede can be traced to the northern Sudanese government's consistent policy of marginalization of the southern part of the country British colonial policy in Sudan had a long history of emphasizing development of the Arab north, and largely ignoring the Black African south, which lacked schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, and other basic infrastructure. After Sudan's first independent elections in 1958, the continued neglect of the southern region by the Khartoum government led to uprisings, revolt, and the longest civil war on the continent. Peoples affected by the violence included the Acholi, Anyuak, Baka, Balanda Bviri, Bari, Boya, Didinga, Dinka, Jiye, Kaligi, Kuku, Lotuka, Mundari, Murie, Nilotic, Nuer, Shilluk, Toposa and Zande. Are Nubians Black?
Are Nubians Africans? The answers again are in this video and very informative.

Khalid Muhammad (born Harold Moore Jr.; January 12, 1948 – February 17, 2001) was a black nationalist leader in the United States who became a prominent figure in the Nation of Islam and later the New Black Panther Party. After a racially inflammatory 1993 speech at Kean College, Muhammad was condemned and removed from his position in the Nation of Islam by Louis Farrakhan. He was also censured by both Houses of the United States Congress.

After being removed from the Nation of Islam he served as the National Chairman of the New Black Panther Party until his death in 2001 from a brain aneurysm. Despite the controversy that followed him, he was strong and unapologetic in support of black independence and stated personal practice of anti-miscegenation. - Wikipedia
