⁣This is a poem for Nana Benkos Bioho. He was a Black Freedom Fighter in the spanish colony of nueva granada which is in the present day neo-colony of colombia in Southern Abya Yala (indigenous name for "the americas"), in the late 1590s and early 1600s, and was known for leading the charge with other ⁣Abibifoɔ (Black people) to fight our captor enemy and establish free Black societies in the Caribbean region of the Abya Yala mainland. The poem contains a sprinkling of words from our Abibiwiase (Black World) languages such as Twi & Palenkero.
