Hijo del Sol (Son of the Sun) is a song interpreted by Balanta Asante inspired by the book "Moors on the Coast" written by the Afrikan "colombian" author Alberto Angola.
Balanta Asante is an Afrikan from the Northern hemisphere who migrated to Boriken (Puerto Rico), learned Boricua Spanish and spitting Pan-Afrikan and Kmtyu-centered lyrics in the language. Was given the name Balanta Asante by the Afrikans in the Southern hemisphere ("colombia").
Nigeria is plagued by human trafficking. Young women are lured to Europe by false promises. When they get to the EU, they are violently forced into prostitution and kept in debt. An escape is almost impossible.
Many young Nigerian women are drawn to the European Union by promises of good incomes and secure work, but they often pay a high price. The young women and their families go into debt to pay human traffickers for the journey. Once they are in Europe, the women are forced into prostitution rather than working as hairdressers or maids. The organized crime cartels behind this grim trade not only coerce the women and force them to work off their debts, they also threaten to kill their families back in Nigeria. But human rights campaigners say that the trafficking could not survive at all without willing customers.

Your eyes and ears don’t tell you the truth. That’s not what they’re for. The senses evolved to enable us to survive and succeed in the world, not to represent it accurately. Now, for the first time, science is revealing exactly how the sense organs receive information, process it, and pass it to the brain, providing deep insight into why we experience the world the way we do—and what it might be like for future technology to transform such experiences, perhaps allowing us to see infrared light or feel magnetic north. Join an eminent group of neuroscientists and philosophers for an ear, tongue, nose and eye-opening adventure that challenges everything we experience in search of the true nature of reality.

In this episode, I make the case for the deep importance of ancestral names and introduce viewers to an African naming practice. Those names are a requisite of personhood. They map out and even guide us to the realization of our path/purpose in the temporal world. The name of a person must reflects his/her purpose in life; said another way, names function as indexes of the particular “soul” assigned a particular human mission, as revealed on a particular day of birth.
In the summer of 2005, federal agents and police in Rockford, Illinois, captured over a thousand hours of surveillance footage inside a crack house. The gang smokes marijuana, plays with guns, and sells crack and heroin for six weeks, completely unaware that their every move is being recorded.
Customers come and go, unaware that their private lives are being revealed. This is an intimate portrait of a crack house's rise and fall, as well as a drug-addled American urban culture. Interviews with gang members, their friends, and police disclose the unavoidable tragedy - and the occasional dark humour - of a reality that exists underneath the surface of any major community.
