The Marimba and music Currulao from the Kmtyu of the Pacific Coast of colombia meets with the ancestral homeland of Senegal and the ancestral Balafon. In our studies, the Kmtyu of the Pacific Coast have theorized the Marimba is a descendant of the Balafon, and was reconstructed in the Choco rainforest when our ancestors were trafficked there. We also have a large ancestry from the ancient Mali empire in our Afrikan genepool, to include Senegambia.
