Caribbean to Caliphate - People & Power
The Caribbean state of Trinidad and Tobago is traditionally most famous for its spectacular annual carnival, its cricketing prowess and of being the birthplace of calypso music. But more recently it's been getting a more disturbing reputation - as the nation with the highest recruitment rates of ISIL fighters in the Western Hemisphere.
So why have so many young Trinidadians been driven to travel thousands of kilometres to participate in the conflicts in Iraq and Syria?
According to Imam Yasin Abu Bakr, the leader of the Jamaat al-Muslimeen group, one of the lead causes why young, black men are joining ISIL is their marginalisation.
"The Africans are going to a pool of unemployment, they just sit in the ghetto and do nothing. And then drugs come in and it's a haven for the drugs. And now the guns are in and so the murder rate is just spiralling out of control," says Abu Bakr.
People & Power sent correspondent Juliana Ruhfus and director Dom Rotheroe to investigate how the Caribbean island nation has become a recruitment hub for ISIL.

This video explains the meaning of the word Kôngo as alluding to the divine mystery as the teaching of the import and the practice of God's law.
The video shows also that the purpose assigned to the Kôngo people is to preserve the African divine mystery, which is an exact science, and give it back to the African nation for cultural reunification of the Blacks of the continent and the diaspora.

Probability is the examination of uncertain processes, but it's useful for far more than games of chance: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectu....res-and-events/proba
The modern theory of probability is considered to have begun in 1654 with an exchange of letters between Blaise Pascal and Pierre de Fermat, and has developed since then into the discipline which examines uncertain processes. For example, although on tossing a coin you have no idea whether you will obtain heads or tails we know that if you keep doing it then in the long run it is very likely that the proportion of heads will be close to a half. The lecture will discuss this and other examples of random processes e.g. random walks and Brownian motion.
The transcript and downloadable versions of the lecture are available from the Gresham College website: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectu....res-and-events/proba
Gresham College has been giving free public lectures since 1597. This tradition continues today with all of our five or so public lectures a week being made available for free download from our website. There are currently over 1,500 lectures free to access or download from the website.

Fawohodiesua Final Pt. 2
Prior to the announce of the Ferguson grand jury verdict—one that was to decide if police officer Darren Wilson would stand trial for the murder of Michael Brown—the Governor of Missouri, Mr. Jeremiah Nixon, issued executive order 14-14 declaring a state of emergency for Missouri in anticipation of civil unrest as a result of the grand jury’s verdict. This announcement was made on November 17, 2014, seven days prior to the actual announcement of the grand jury decision. The anticipation of civil unrest from the African-American (A-A) community by the predominately White governmental body leads one to suspect that a psychological analysis was conducted by the State on A-As and it was determined that given a negative verdict for officer Wilson, A-As would more than likely riot; thus, the national guard would be needed to quell the ‘insurrection’. Using this current event as a pretext, we ask the questions: What is psychology? Have and are African-Americans being studied psychologically by the dominant society? If so, for what purpose? If such an analysis has been done, to what extent has their findings been used to the detriment of African-American people? Have Euro-Americans used psychology to wage war on A-A people? If the field of psychology can be used as an instrument of warfare, can it be used as a tool for resistance and liberation? If so, how? These questions and more will be addressed by our esteemed panel of psychologists: Dr. Wade Nobles (The Institute for the Advanced Study of Black Family Life & Culture, Inc.) and Ádìsá Ájámú (The Atunwa Collective). This is a conversation not to be missed. Hosted by Asar Imhotep (The Madu-Ndela Institute for the Advancement of Science and Culture).
