Of Black America was a series of seven one-hour documentaries presented by CBS News in the summer of 1968, at the end of the Civil Rights Movement and during a time of racial unrest (Martin Luther King had been assassinated that spring and riots in many cities had followed). The groundbreaking series explored various aspects of the history and current state of African-American community. The executive producer was Perry Wolff, and the series was sponsored by the Xerox Corporation. The series was presented in prime time at 10:00 PM, on Tuesdays (a slot then usually reserved for CBS Reports documentaries and news shows), except for the last episode which aired on a Monday. The first installment ("Black History: Lost, Stolen, Strayed") won an Emmy Award and a Writers Guild of America Award for Andy Rooney. --WikipediaSide note: Actor Stepin Fetchit sued CBS for defamation after the special aired.

Prior to the announce of the Ferguson grand jury verdict—one that was to decide if police officer Darren Wilson would stand trial for the murder of Michael Brown—the Governor of Missouri, Mr. Jeremiah Nixon, issued executive order 14-14 declaring a state of emergency for Missouri in anticipation of civil unrest as a result of the grand jury’s verdict. This announcement was made on November 17, 2014, seven days prior to the actual announcement of the grand jury decision. The anticipation of civil unrest from the African-American (A-A) community by the predominately White governmental body leads one to suspect that a psychological analysis was conducted by the State on A-As and it was determined that given a negative verdict for officer Wilson, A-As would more than likely riot; thus, the national guard would be needed to quell the ‘insurrection’.  Using this current event as a pretext, we ask the questions: What is psychology? Have and are African-Americans being studied psychologically by the dominant society? If so, for what purpose? If such an analysis has been done, to what extent has their findings been used to the detriment of African-American people? Have Euro-Americans used psychology to wage war on A-A people? If the field of psychology can be used as an instrument of warfare, can it be used as a tool for resistance and liberation? If so, how? These questions and more will be addressed by our esteemed panel of psychologists: Dr. Wade Nobles (The Institute for the Advanced Study of Black Family Life & Culture, Inc.) and Ádìsá Ájámú (The Atunwa Collective). This is a conversation not to be missed. Hosted by Asar Imhotep (The Madu-Ndela Institute for the Advancement of Science and Culture).

What if everything you thought you knew about Egypt was only half the story? In this episode, we uncover Egypt’s hidden African roots and reveal how modern Egypt has weaponized religion and power to control Ethiopia and its access to the Nile River. Ancient Egypt’s undeniable Black heritage has been erased by colonial narratives and modern politics, but the truth can no longer be ignored.

In this episode we explore the African identity of ancient Egypt that has been buried for centuries. But this story isn’t just about the past—it’s about how Egypt continues to influence Africa today. It seems that religion has been used as a tool to control Ethiopia and block its use of the Nile waters, Africa’s lifeblood.

This episode is about reclaiming history, understanding the present, and challenging the narratives that divide Africa. Join me as we expose the truth behind Egypt’s hidden Black history and its power struggle with Ethiopia.
