⁣Link Up Podcast — Ep 11 (part 1) | Ft Akosua Kambon and Ɔbenfo Ọbádélé Bakari Kambon (Youth in Action, Abibitumi 20, Upcoming Book)
Hosts: Niara Esi Ìjèawelē Ọmọlará Kwento & Bakari Kwadwo Ọbatayé Kwento

Akɔaba, Woezɔ, Oɔbaake (welcome) to another episode of Link Up Podcast, where we connect with Abibifoɔ (Black People) doing Black powerful work across Abibiman (the Black Land) and the diaspora.

In this episode, we Link Up for a special two-for-one Episode 11 Part 1 featuring Akosua Kambon and Ɔbenfo Ọbádélé Bakari Kambon. We begin with Akosua, as she shares the Blacktastic work she has already started building through her Twi teaching show "Akosua & Afia Agorɔ", popcorn making videos "Akosua’s Crunchy Creations", and her interests in fashion, baking, singing, dancing and so much more. We discuss her recent experience on the Sankɔfa Journey 2025, including the Abibitumi Conference, and her first plane ride to Burkina Faso. Her section is a living reminder that Black children do not have to wait until adulthood to use their talents towards contributing to building Abibifahodie (Black Liberation).

We then Link Up with Akosua's Agya, Ɔbenfo Ọbádélé Bakari Kambon for the beginning of a two-part discussion. In this first portion we cover the inspiration behind building Abibitumi and the 20-year journey of development, the move from Abibitumi Kasa as Black Power Language into a broader all-Black ecosystem, and the work of turning a Black digital space into a Black physical model through Abibitumi headquarters and the xmnw Medjay Community. The conversation also moves through his upcoming book, "The Construction of Black Civilization, Vol. 1", Mdw Ntr, primary source research, and what it means to stop treating Black Power as theory and start building it in every area of human activity.

This is a conversation about raised consciousness becoming raised behavior, Black love as institution, and the work required to bring the whole family Black home.

Feel free to share your thoughts, and Link Up!

Origin of the Izon People: The 20,000 Year Migration From Nile Valley to Niger Delta
Origin of the Izon People: The 20,000 Year Migration From Nile Valley to Niger Delta Baka Omubo 13 Views • 6 days ago

The 20,000 year journey of the Izon people starts here.Where did the Izon come from? For centuries, this question has haunted historians of West Africa. This documentary traces the complete origin story of the Izon nation from the Last Glacial Maximum 20,000 years ago, through the Green Sahara (African Humid Period) of 5000 BCE, to the rise and fall of their first city-state Agadagba-bou in the Niger Delta.Follow IJO, the ancestral father of the Izon, as climate change forces his people on an epic migration: from Nile Valley to Lake Chad down to the Middle Niger then Ile-Ife to Benin and finally the Niger Delta. Discover the ORU/Horu, the aboriginal Izon settlers of Ife who lived among other ancient groups before political unrest pushed them south to found the first undisputed Izon homeland on Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State. This is the untold story of how the African Humid Period created and destroyed civilizations. A story of survival, identity, and the forgotten kingdoms of ancient Nigeria.CHAPTERS:00:00 The Question: Where Did The Izon Come From? Mythology 05:04 The Question: Where Did The Izon Come From?
